Gor Mahia ended their season losing 0-1 to new champions Tusker.
Additional Reporting from goal.com

Tusker FC won by a solitary goal scored by Allan Wanga in the 76th minute.

It was the Green Army who started the match on a high note winning a corner in the third minute, but the hosts failed to capitalize on it. In the tenth minute, Robert Omunuk was fed well by Jackson Macharia, but the former champions were saved by an offside flag.

Five minutes later it was Erick Ouma commonly known as Marcello who failed to keep his composure to blast wide despite a fine pass by Francis Kahata. Both teams continued to push for an opener, but no team was able to hit the target.

Ushuru relegated, Sofapaka survives!

Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge continued to press the brewers but the champions’ defense led by Martin Kiiza did the best to keep the opponents at bay. It could have been 1-0 in favour of the hosts in the 42nd minute, but Collins Okoth missed a glorious opportunity as his left footed shot went wide.

After the break, Paul Nkata’s charges came back stronger and could have gone ahead in the 57th minute, but Michael Khamati’s goal bound effort was cleared off the line by Haron Shakava. In the 65th minute, Kahata missed the target by several inches as his fierce effort came off the woodwork with the goalkeeper well beaten.

It was a costly miss as the brewers took the lead in the 76th minute. The visitors won the free kick in a promising position, and Allan Wanga made no mistake. The result means Gor Mahia end the season seven points behind the champions who will now represent the country in the 2017 Caf Champions league.

And we still blame the 3 points deduction as the reason for not winning the league….dream on kogallo !

  • ODUOR12 says:

And why would the team win the last game when they know bloated EC won’t pay the match winning bonus, this delayed/non payments may be an explanation for the 12 draws! We won the league 3 years in a row without “camping” but 2016 because of the sponsorship money/gate collections had to find an outlet in came “camping” instead of paying the likes of FN, Auchos and generally increasing players/TBs emoluments and paying them promptly. YES FRUITS OF 8 YEARS EXPERIENCE EACH OF AR,NGALA,KILO & OROWE (32 YEARS COMBINED) BUT OF COURSE WHO SAID WE HAVE TO WIN A TITLE YEAR IN YEAR OUT EVEN COACH OF THE MOUTH-WE FOUGHT LIKE CHAMPIONS NEF,NEF, WILL SUFFICE. Looking forward to nothing in 2017 but for more docked points because “fans booed the linesman” and friendlies against supaloaves, butterflies and cement fcs.

Now is the time to show Ze Maria the door and to reorganize the team which is full of talents .

  • Jamigori says:

Ze Marie has been a clueless coach with a big technical bench. This guy is a resemblance of the EC led by Ambrose Rachier. FN should be back. He was sabotaged by the EC led by Ambrose Rachier, some players like Bonface Oluoch, useless fans but he won the league unbeaten.

My opinion, thaw some may argue Ze is a gud coach,I think his temparament, demeneour or maybe his DNA,strategy and his mentality is not that of a WINNER.He always talks of players winning mentality bt he does not inspire them to do so,note of his reaction many a times the ball is played on our half, wayward passes by musa, shakava etc, missed chances, I mean his reaction does tell much of somebody who is a GO GETTER.Walu was the best player in the first half dnt know wat he told him in the 2nd 1/2,he was no longer playing a free role.jack, kagere were dwn he dnt notice.this was an important game to us to argue that we lost the league due to deductions. If he were to stay he shuld be given a contract of 6months.lastly we dnt have reserve keepers only joy riders,AV watched the 2 keepers throught traininhg hata keeper except Jeri na oluoch.

He always flatters to deceive…What an anti-climax. If the status quo remains, it may be long before we are a powerhouse again!!

    • ODUOR12 says:

As per Futaa.com, Ze Maria is quoted as saying he has another year (2017) of his contract to go. This contrary to what AR said that Ze Maria was on a one year renewable contract, based on performance or did he mean non-performance.Wish Jakom & his bloated EC were as efficient and prompt in paying player bonuses, processing CAF licensing and holding AGM when due.

      • Musymo says:

Bloated and opaque. With the current set up, any aspirant who wins will have an EC open to abuse. Is there a way it canbe reformed. Chris talks of having a lean office of two politicians only, the rest being technocrats competitively appointed. Does he have the powers to make such a change that is

With a small, loss, in a lucksture football display, coach must go. Anyway I commend the team management and players for good display, it’s not been an easy season, best of luck next season, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  • Jamriambo. says:

Have the players been paid all their benefits? Can any of them confirm here? All officials have been dully paid. Sportpesa has unleashed its share of contributions, no player should go without any pay. Come out nd tell us now oif you have been given your dues.

  • A person says:

As for me, I believe Maria has improved a lot, but I thank God for silencing the holier than though bloggers who were trying to label our fan as “goons”.

  • Tusker naibisha sisi yawa. Duto rumo Isokei sisi sasa naweka tu macho yetu. Awuro. Jachien ogulo ka wangni. Mimi sasa takuwa nangalia nyinui kidogo kidogo tu. Mungu nasaidie nyini yote. Tibim is not end life. Is pein but is has pas. Look yuo letar.

  • levelmind fan says:

The irony is,guys can mistreat, sabotage & label names a record breaking coach who had nothing to talk of bt his achievement and glorify samba talk with no achievement even go to the extent of renewing contract. This is what ego brings when u stay in a place for too long. Its no longer abt the institution or club that you are supposed to lead bt u.Anybody who disagrees with u is sacked even at the expense of the institution or club success. Your ego must be soothed. I call upon GM faithful s to give change a chance.8yrs is a long tym for one to effect change. We all talk abt changing constitution, if really AR was committed to see GM grow he would have encouraged the fans to do so for the gud of the club. Our chair has been giving us fish instead of teaching us how to fish. That’s why some fans think that AR is like a GM demi god

  • Dan Original says:

Is Ze Maria a bad coach? What are the parameters we use to say one is a good coach and not the players or the EC? Can we say Juma of Muhoroni or Baraza of Sofapaka is a better coach.
The moment we will realize that winnng a championship is a combination of EC, Fans, TB and players then we will be able to say whether a coach is bad or not. Being emotional because of a loss will not help us get a better coach. Our problem as a team has been lack of consistency in scoring. We conceded the least goals, lost the least games (tied with Tusker) but were done in with the draws as well as hooliganism for the docked points. I remember bloggers here demanding that the EC signs one local and foreign player which they did. Why not take part of that blame considering that the two didn’t leave upto to our expectations?
Personally, I think we have a good coach and all we need is to ensure the right people are elected and the right players signed. It’s that simple. Crying about a coach who never steps into the field to play is just running away from the facts. If coaching was the problem then ingwe on their fifth coach in the year could be far off

Those who discuss coach only;Is our main striker good enough? Which foreigner should be sold and which talented foreigner from Africa should come in?
