Oserian sink Kogalo

Gor Mahia went down 0-1 to bottom side  Oserian in a KPL match played at Afraha stadium on Sunday.  The goal that sunk Kogalo came in the 15th minute. From that point on, Oserian did nothing but defend doggedly. Gor Mahia had started well with Kevin Omondi who recently returned from injury looking lively. They dominated possesion and had the Lions share of attacks. However poor finishing still appears to be a problem.

In the 60th minute, Oserian were reduced to 10 men when a player was sent off for a second bookable offence. Gor Mahia continued to attack but could not find the breakthrough. In came Demonde Selenga who fought gamely but could not find the back of the net.

My task now is to ensure Gor escape relegation. My players are not playing according to expectations,” Gor coach Zdravko L0garusic told the media.

  • what the coach has said about some players also applies to most players in the KPL LEAGUE.thats why countries with established strucures-youth tiers systems, like EGYPT,SENEGAL AND GUNIEA love to pay the looters of FKF for friendlies so that they can do an embakasi combined on us.
The coach has told us the truth when he said we have to fight to avoid relegation as we are not even a mid table side.our play from ZDS time has been disjointed and predictable and thats why even build up play is very difficult for all our players.
We have to bite the bullet, cut our losses and dismiss some players who just inflate our wage bill.the money saved can be used to invest in youthful players to play for our youth team.
Its funny that we have foreign players who add no value to the team on the field but talk big outside it.our rivals-ogwang have invested in local lads after chasing away the fake foreign professionals who we as kogallo have embraced.we are now confirming why these players were dropped by their clubs as we drop further into relegation while they move higher up the table.
THE TRUTH IS THAT GOR IS A JOKE,THATS WHY OFFICIALS PICK REJECTS FOR COACHES TO PERFORM MIRACLES WITH MISFITS FROM OTHER CLUBS.

  • Its boring saying the same thing. When the coach came he said he had observed Gor play and he was convinced he could turn around things with these same players. Now he calls then rotten potatoes. He will have to stick with the same players until we have to climb the ladder up. If you say so negative things about your players publicly what will that do to them? Demoralizing them. See how AVB scorned the older players at Chelsea. They ganged up and sabotaged the team. Check now under unfanzed R. D Mateo. He just embraced them and reminded them how good they are though he knows at one moment they will be axed. Is he running from responsibility given that he has already signed a contract of which we even don know the terms? I will go back to my comments. I think Bobby had started well and this guy should have taken two to three months to learn the ropes. All THE BLAME ON EC. I wont stop saying that.

  • Eblazing, note that, ngwa, abondo, midenyo, haji, selenga, nzoka were dropped by their clubs and we gladly embraced them.selenga and nzoka were chased from the den for indiscipline while ngwa could not make the grade where he went to.The problem we have here is that so many of us dont want to call a spade a spade.we want instant results based on zero investment.sometimes a player is signed because he scored against us or played well against us in 1 match while no one monitors the players form for the season.technically we are a joke.how can schoolboys from thika utd with the same sponsor hammer rangers 6-0 away at city while we with our foreign imports have to come from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw.we have accepted mediocrity to be our middle name as we no longer groom players while signing players who end up embarrasing the club-gattuso.sianga started well with his young recruits only for myopic fools to chase him as we were loosing with the young lads and ended up signing experienced players who are taking us now to the tables basement.we can now see their vision of instant results with experienced players as we lose to relegation candidates.
GOR IS HEADED NOWHERE WITH THESE TECHNICALLY HANDICAPPED SQUAD AND THE EARLIER WE START GROOMING YOUNG PLAYERS TO TAKE US BACK TO THE GLORY DAYS THE BETTER.

  • Wuonpap, thank you for your proper incision of the playing unit. If you go thru my write ups I said about us overrating these players. What happened I was called names by bloggers and were insisting that we got top grade of three 1st teams.
We got it wrong from the beginning. Have asked about our physio department cos we got too many players on treatment table. Just many things not right. One gets tired with all these.

  • Its important to know that every coach has his philosophy of the game and team tactics which must be passed on to the playing unit. This takes time and total commitment from all concerned, usually about 21 days is needed to come up with a team that is coordinated, assuming you are working with the same players! In other words the coaches, not coach, need time to come up with the best team out of the available players. It was a mistake to change the technical bench and entire playing unit that JBO was working on as it only ended up bringing a delay in the team building process. However, there is hope for a better outcome so long us there is patience and discussive consultation by the technical bench with the virw of coming up with the first 16 players made up of 6 defenders(including the wing backs),5 midfielders(defensive and offensive) and the 4 strikers including the wing attackers plus the goal keeper. These must be made to play together regularly both in practice and in the kpl.Everyone must be made to understand that there must be a first 16 followed by a 6 man substitute bench, bringing a total of only 22 players plus 4 reserve players to take care of injuries(Total 26 NOT 33!). These 7 extra guys are part of the idleness and lack of focus and competitiveness in the playing unit. Incentives and motivation must also be given to the playing unit to encourage and reward commitment and discipline which means performance. There is need to identify and invest in younger players especially talented school boys who are then placed in good sporting schools such as upperhill, ofafa, olympic, hospitalhill, jamhurii,kb,ksm day, olf, etc. The schools in nairobi have the most rigorous and competitive league in kenya. Once identified such students must be contracted, supported, assisted and monitored especially on the virtues of self control, personal discipline and the vices of drugs, especially bhang, alcoholism and uncontrolled sex which is rampant in kpl
In conclusion we must all realise that modern football is serious business that requires seriousness and is no longer a hobby or pastime. We shall prevail as kogallo.

Mine will be a positive from yesterdays’ match.Yes a positive!.
Yesterday after selenge’scored’ the goal that never was (of course midenyo had handled the ball prior to the ‘goal’,and all and sundry saw this). Then some ruffian thinks that his blood is green, the green of kogallo, and throws a bottle of soda in to the field of play. The fella was beaten up by fans and later handed over to the police. While i abhor the ‘beating up ‘part,i strongly support the ‘handing over to the police part’.By this morning,no media house had reported this incident.Anyway no good story from kogallo ever sees the light of the day as long as our media houses are concerned.
As much as we are loosing on the pitch, atleast we are winning on the stands! We are winning the fight againts hooliganism albeit slowly.Keep it up fans.

  • Arrumtidi, I agree with you. No media will report that the rufffian was handed over to police. And don’t be surprised that he was later on released. Makes me wonder if some of these ruffians are not on someone else’s payroll. Especially considering the negative publicity we are now getting. On the playing unit I can now only pick a few players who are trying to ‘die’ for the team but all in all we still have problems in putting the ball into the next. We tend to luck ideas in the last quarter. Yesterday we tormrnted Oserian for a whole 90 minutes yet they got only one chance the whole match and made good use of it. Our strikers and midfielders need to stay cool as they attack. The left and right full backs are no longer confident to ask for the ball and start the attacks from behind as we used to and that’s the case for most of them. At this rate I fear for the careers of most of them. Our camp might also be raided for the best of our players. On the physio why so many injuries. No player can play two games in a row. This is affecting team selection. All in all this is our team and we will still be there on Sunday when we play Sofapaka but ready to accept any result

No more sending any player away. we have to do with the one that we have. i can remember there was a season that MAN U was doing very bad at the start of the league but it reached a point that switched from poor run to good with the same players they had.
if you have been a player in your life, you can tell whats happening with Gor without going to the players or coach. there what we call BAD LUCK in football. imagine team that is only beaten one nill and the highest was two. this team is good.

@ motema my comrade there is no quick fix solution certainly at this time. This is where I do differ with you people with regard to your emotional approach to K’Ogalo predicaments. We can not fire the coach and all players without any justification. Why can’t we emulate @ Dan on post 19.

And for those who are still wondering and dreaming of GOR of 90’s and 80’s please be informed that circumstances have changed. Football is a dynamic sports that require systematic upgrade. Even if your wives and maids used to do laundry for GM playing kits that is history and you can not brag about it because it just confirms how backward the club was without sound management.

  • Guys, I believe all is not lost. There is a brainstorming meeting at the offices at Nyayo stadium today and I hope people will open up their hearts but remain logical. Outbusrsts of emotions has never helped, infact it destroys. For our information all the players in KPL now are more or less of the same standards. The only thing that separates them is motivation and organisation from their clubs. We can all see that the top teams are more or less organised and settled in both their playing and tech benches. For sure we are not. Our best players like Lavatsa, Hugo, Lucky Dube etc are constantly on medical conditions. The rest who are playing are also just or on the way to the same condition. Just met Collins Omondi limping after yesterday’s game. Might mean he misses the weekend game while Wekesa is also injured. What of Juma Yusuf? We need to sort out this medical thing. Not sure if our physio is not overwhelmed. These are things that should be left to insurance to deal with as the physio deals with the ‘small’ knocks and strains. On commitment currently there is no player who seems commited and wants to WIN like KASAYA. How I wish he was the captain. I just love the fire burning in his belly to get those wins.

  • My personal opinion has and will always be now that we here we cant send any player away now neither willl we benefit the team by sacking the coaches.
Someone critized the coach for being blunt about the kind of players we have. In life at times we require reality check and he had just done for us however difficult it is. This is the kind of coach Gor needs coz he shows spine and an independent mind.
However much guys here will hate on the team i can say without a doubt the boys have been playing well and the coach now knows who is who and what he needs to work on. I still believe God will lift us up.

It is over now guys. GOR tide will change dramatically starting next weekend. There is no cause for alarm. Same players will soon rise to the occasion. Have faith with what we have and keep on standing by the club. It is too early to talk of relegation at this time.

I appreciate you Okoth Jabilo and other bloggers.
I am not the only one believes in God at GM , I trust the majority does if not all.

I keep wondering why people cannot see what am seeing.. remember its taken me a lot of soul searching to say what am just about to say though i said it sometimes back.

    1. Yes the EC messed us up and really did when they went signing up players and its at this point that i strongly disagree with Oduori 12 at his blog herein above that the EC can scout for players, let the Tech bench do everything concerned with players recruitment.

    2. The philosophy of the EC must also change drastically..I mean to say there has been alot of talk of JO Dhiwa thing and ‘menyo pap’ at GM that i seriously believe God is punishing us.. this is my belief and its no secret the vice is said to be championed right at the top from the EC. I will not celebrate at anytime when GM loses whatever wrong has been done but i must say we must learn and change our philosophy and operations.

    Suggested solution:

    i) Do not blame any player but encourage them, please people.
ii) Lets invite a known Christian Pastor for public prayer to God almighty to lead the GM family to prayer of denouncement of darkness powers so far glorified.
iii) Let all people who love GM pray for forgiveness for having marveled at the vice.

I strongly believe this is our only problem.

@Ogango Trailer and @Arrumtiddi thank you. I will take your advice and watch to see what this “made-in China” jakowilli is up to.

I raised the alarm because I have to protect my brand. This is a name my late father called me for all the time I knew him. The funny thing is I never knew why he called me so until after he was gone when I realised that he had actually coined it from my three names. This is why I must cling to it jealously.

This trend is, however, worrying because very soon we will be blogging with a Sofaset branch Jinja or Sofaset branch Entebbe yet we know that good, resilient, durable and genuine sofasets are only available in Kampala.

@Waxme I agree very much with telling players point blank what the coach thinks of them. What I don’t support is telling it to the media people. The press will only make Gor Mahia look bad. Kindly refer to @Arrumtiddi and @Dan in posts 18 and 19 respectively.

@Waxme it is on record that before taking up the position at K’ogalo, our new coach had kept close tabs on Gor Mahia. When he took the job he declared, much to our excitement, that he has what it takes to turn the team around. That is the prayer of all of us.

He has intimated twice that he intends to overhaul the team. That is good. I urge him to get it done.

You will agree with me that by talking negatively to the press about the players he is actually communicating to the players through the press. Why not tell it straight to the players? If he has already done so then why repeat the same to the press?

Now imagine a player facing an opponent and then the opponent starts chiding him with remarks like “you cannot think and run at the same time!…..you are a rotten potato…..you don’t deserve to be in Gor!, etc”. God!

Those observations are correct but they should not get into public domain moreso to our opponents. The press does not train football. The press does not manage a team. The press only ‘presses’ and stirs negativity against Gor Mahia.

My bother Waxme, on the run up to yesterday’s game against Arsenal, Mancini told the press that a loss to Arsenal would effectively put an end to Man City’s title ambitions. Now that seemingly harmless comment earned him so much wrath from English soccer pundits- the bone of contention being that he made negative comments about his team to the press.

Let it not be misconstrued that I am ‘anti-the new coach’. Who am I after all? No. We all want the system to work but it can only work if we all make the environment conducive…and this calls for all of us to think, act and talk responsibly.

In a way,i like the way the coach is going about his business but he should be carefull not to demoralize the players.

The EC needs to come out strongly and motivate the team with match incentives and allowances.at the same time, they should do away with all Tusker rejects save for Kitawi and clean up the house.the only real signings we made we Rama Salim,David Otieno,Wyclife Kasaya and Ngwa.I wonder what became of the highly rated Yusuf Juma,i noticed he can only shoot with his left leg only.

We just need to ensure that we collect maximum points in the next 6 games so as to be finish in a respectable position during the end of the first leg.

Lets turn up in large numbers during our next game.

In good or bad times,am Kogalo forever.

  • The main things to note here is that our team isn’t at all that bad because we have not yet conceded more than two goals, something we can even relate with some of the teams on top of the table. All we need is good finishing to rip those points. I think the coach had a reason for going public with such information demeaning players but he should not have forgotten that football is also psychological so this can really affect players performance.
Am also a Chelsea fan, at one time we were like “players wazee waende” but look at them now! Sometimes all we need is the right formula, without this all the perfect ingredients become useless. hop the coach will come up with the right formula

Am just a supporter of GM and thats what I do all the time. From the look of things and what I sometimes read here, it seems some ploggers are more inside into what is happening in GM than most people know. What the new coach is pointing out are the things most fans have been mentioning almost on a dairly basis. The best thing we can do is just to support him for better results. It Sianga almost a year to moldt good players. Zico found refined players, used them well at the beginning and destroyed them at the end and therefore it gonna take sometimes from now. Let us just be positive and again we began very poorly. Gor is Mighty.

Am back on the site It had some errors I dont know what happened maybe admin can shade more light. What I would suggest lets remaim patient result will just come.let also not critise players we encourage them.we should leave to the coach to decide whom players he shall drop and ready to work with.otherwise as fans and supporters we shall give you our support till the end.To those who are hacking this site u are just doomed.

  • I think this site should be given a complete transformation. There should be a logging in area for members, this can help prevent such problems that Jackowili is facing. And lets be real, this site’s appearance is a bit outdated, we should also increase some functionality such as selling Gor mahia’s merchandise on this site with the buyer paying for the delivery fee.
Lastly to the fans, let’s keep supporting the boys, for instance if a player shoots wide we should just cheer for the attempt, it might bring back their confidence.

  • We will be back and remember, the teams that have beaten us will not do it again during the second leg of the league and we will get to the top.

Idont see this new coach making progress in the team rather very temperamental. He has made two sensitive issues to the team which needs healing, coach has to learn mental strength of players and improve their weakness b4 any game.otherwise he will suffer great sabotage from various departments in the team
