Gor Mahia FC has arrived in Nakuru ahead of Sunday’s fixture against Oserian at the Afraha stadium. The team of twenty left Nairobi on Saturday midmorning with three key changes to the squad that played against Mathare United on Wednesday at the City stadium.
Top striker Baldin Ngwa and defender Christopher Wekesa are out with injuries sustained during their 1-1 draw against Mathare United while Collins Okoth announced his resignation from the club on Thursday.
In their absence, coach Zdravko Logarusic has called in Peter Juma, Anthony Akumu and Kevin Omondi who has recovered from injury.
Gor Mahia’s camp will also be boosted by news that Kevin Master Ochieng has recovered after weeks out with an ankle twist though he is yet to regain maximum match fitness. Ochieng started training this week alongside other team mates and is optimistic of making a quick comeback. He did not travel with the team.
From eight matches played this season, Gor Mahia has struggled in form managing just seven points but this weekend could be the much awaited turn around.
The new coach Logarusic has started injecting a feeling of professionalism at the club starting by gagging all players against plan less talk with members of the media urging them to work hard towards improving their game and results instead. The coach in an interview on Wednesday after his team’s 1-1 draw against Mathare said.
“It is important for players to talk when necessary. This will help them focus more on the game other than fame. A good player is known by his talking on the pitch. The results talk on his behalf.” He said

  • Admin, seems there is a problem with the file directing a user to the homepage (Gormahia.net). Check it out. Otherwise, good luck to the boys, hope the boys will get us the three points, it has been long since we’ve had them
