Kenya champions say they will not let go of the influential midfielder in June even if he succeeds in upcoming trials with South African side Ajax Capetown
Gor Mahia have taken issue with a request by Fisa academy to let go of influential midfielder Kevin Omondi in June.
The academy has told the Kenyan Premier League champions to be ready to release the player as early as June if he succeeds in trials at South African side Ajax Capetown.
“We have received a letter from Fisa Academy informing us that Omondi is needed to attend trials in South Africa but they are not giving us the date.
“However, we take exception to their request that we be ready to release the player in June if he succeeds in the trials. We cannot afford to let go of our best player in a year we are defending KPL title,” Gor Mahia secretary Chris Omondi told Goal.
Omondi says while they have no problem allowing the player to attend trials, letting him go is another matter altogether which can only be discussed at the appropriate time.
Gor Mahia over-run Mumbi Nationale
Gor Mahia beat Mumbi Nationale 4-0 in a Tuseday night friendly. Kevin Omondi scored three goals and George Blackberry Odhiambo scored the 4th goal. The national league division 1 side coached by Ezekiel Akwana were no match for Gor Mahia on this occassion.
SG do not stand on a players opportunity to grow his career by issuing unnecessary demands. Gor has won its most previous matches against KCB,ULINZI and THIKA minus “ADE” and i wonder where is your beef with the player. After all his move will not only motivate others to work harder but may also produce another revelation given opportunity to players like Kenga,Wanyonyi,Kariuki and Kopany.
SG the burning issue at the moment is MONEY!MONEY!MONEY! and we have been waiting in vain 4 ur office to launch the K’Ogalo “SMART CARD” holders 4 VIP stands so that we can help raise at least 24 million for the remaining 10 home matches. It is as simple as (600*10*4000)= 24M. Wake Up guys and do the needful.
SG, If K14 gets a better deal pls let the boy go and better his life. I actually expected a change on how we handle issues. Not like before. Pls also tell us how your engagement with KRA is going. And any status about getting a sponsor.
Can someone tell me why these academies don’t sell their players to teams. this was the same issue with Were of AFC.
Why cant we make our own stars from our under 19?
Let this guy go, you will get better people. He has given his best at Kogalo. Of late not super fit and has never been able to do the 90 minutes. You will be better off with someone 75% with his skill able to be present for 90 minutes.
All the best ADE. Try your luck. Gor will open doors for others but also know that the “odhi oduogo” never seem to work for Gor players – learn from berry
I think ADE shud be released any time he wants to go bcos he is a gud player but not a team player & those who hav been watching him play can agree with me. He is the player who if on the pitch will want to take all free kick which do not yield anything. Many pple wud argue that he is the best but he has shrt comings that hurts the team most. Whe Ade is in the field of play he thinks that he is a star and shud be given all balls & shud not be rebuked 4 anything that he has done wrong. I’d rather have Musa
cont #4
Musa mohammed retained in Gor than Ade . I did like him sometime back but his long stay at Gor have made him think that he owns Gor.Let the boy go & learn some discipline away from his mum. & I think if he is away he can be a resposible player. But letting him stay longer will not help K’ogalo in the title defence.
Any updates on the mpesa collections?
let ADE go you stupid SG you cant stand on way of players i wonder how Gor officials think.
why do u guys talk bad about ua own player?
SG, how do you sign a player “permanently on loan” for many seasons. It seems most GM players are on loan. Rama, Kevin, Blackberry, Kenga etc. Lavatsa??
the secretary general is right, we need all the influential players around to assist retain the title, after that we can release even the whole team and start afresh, we love kevo so much and wish him well and will never b a barrier to his carrier progress lakini at the moment atusamehe
