Eric “Marcelo” Ouma refutes rumours, as Muguna joins

Gor Mahia’s youthful defender Eric Ouma has come out and strongly denied rumours that he turned down a contract from Gor Mahia and insisted on another six month contract

Below is the statement that was posted in Marcelo’s social media pages

I wish to categorically state that rumours circulating around that I recently insisted for a further six months stay at Gor Mahia and in the process turning down a 3 year offer is misinformed.
Neither myself nor my Representatives have held OFFICIAL talks with the club as purported by a section of the media but I am fully aware that a meeting regarding the same is being scheduled to clear the air.
Fans have reacted and I feel their frustrations because its a normal occurrence anywhere in the world of football when such reports are filtered into the air more so as a result of misinformation.
I once again thank you for your continued support and may God bless you in your endeavors. Happy New Year.

Muguna signed

A report suggests that Gor Mahia have sealed a deal to sign KPL player of the year Kenneth Muguna.

“We have been following Muguna and we are happy we have got his signature. He will play a pivotal role in our 2017 campaign,” the official who sought anonymity told supersport.com.

The lanky Muguna shone brilliantly in the 2016 season playing for Western Stima. He had previously played for Palos of Kisumu. He was most notable for his tireless running and boundless energy. With Muguna and Mugiraneza in the defensive midfield area, Gor Mahia will be much stronger in the department which was weak last season.

Ze Maria Returns

Gor Mahia tactician Ze Maria has returned from his Christmas holiday. He spent the holiday first in Italy where he lives then in Brazil. Ze Maria landed at JKIA airport on Saturday.

  • This is the maddest recruitment ever conducted by the club in the last 5 years. Here are my concerns…

    1. How do you recruit 8 midfielders in one transfer season and how will you play all of them in a season which we are in contention for just 3 trophies ?

    2. Is there a plan to loan out some of this new youngsters otherwise I season a repeat of the usual offloading after 6 months with very limited playing time ?

    3. Did ze Maria actually sanctioned this recruitment ? I remember before he left he was talking of six players, now we have recruited double the figure.

    4. Who is looking at the defence recruitment? We have no replacement for the back four yet we have released some quality defenders .

    5. Can the EC confirm if wafula, Colin’s okoth and BB have exited the club ? Wafula’s whereabouts are unknown, okoth has serious discipline issues and BB’s position is no longer guaranteed.

Can the EC please clear the air !

@Jakoyo, the EC has no apologies to make to you. We as fans our work is to support the team and wait for the results. Jakoyo I can remember that you are the same fan that was complaining of lack of depth in the team and now you want explanation.

Let the office do their work and let fans offer their unequivocal support to the team. We fans can only judge if the team is not performing.

  • Marcelo should stop ‘eating our heads’. If the reports are false as he is claiming, then let him sign the two year deal Rachier is offering. Bonny and Nzigiyimana whose contracts expired with his have already renewed. There should be no problem then for him doing the same!!!!

@Musymo, I do concur with you that the contract should be either two years or more.

  • @jamigori, it is not apology , it is clarity and explanation. I don’t need apology , for what ?

The recruitment is not bad am only worried that there is no addition in striking force which was equally blant last year. Midfield so far well taken care of backline not so bad.

    • @Agwanda, We have signed a striker called Uyoga, and rumours are that Oburu Vincent has signed too though Ingwe claim they have signed him too. With the two plus Tuyisenge ,Kagere and your namesake Jowi, and our scoring midfielders i.e Kahata, Muguna, Berry and Janja Walu, I think we are not badly off in that department. My worry is defence which being our best performer last season had the most number of players released. I hear Joash Onyango is already in, rumours are that a certain Bernard Ochieng from Vihiga United is in but with rumours of Shakava to Zesco , pleeeeease Ja’Asego get me Kamura before Ingwe does because I understand they are furiously pursuing him.

Admin,it is not lost on me that you are gagging my posts…fellow bloggers comments get posted in real-time as were mine long ago but now i have to wait one day as you moderate ”nonsense”…Please i wish not be rude towards you so to make it easy let my fellow bloggers who look upto me to provide them with info that you have directions to block and screen all my comments thereby rendering them time-barred and useless by the time you post them. I am aware of frustration-tactics so you cant pull the same on me.I don’t need to blog here my friend as the wise saying goes ”Akufukuzaye Hakwambii Toka” let my fellow bloggers know am blacklisted and you wont see any comment from me going forward. If you don’t i’ll find a way to let them know myself b4 taking my final sabbatical

Thank you Macelo for coming out into open. I am just wondering whether he is opening up to a new longer contract. This to me would mean that he has been listening to the voice of reason.

Give us the news addressing our concerns about the heavy inflow and out flow, concerns about players gelling together, have we created a new team altogether? Jakanyada, its not time to run away, speak up.

@Agwanda David, i can feepp ypur reasoning on no strikers. Unfortunately there is lack of strikers in most of the leagues in Africa. Apart from WA most regions are axtually fweling the pinch. No wonder Makwata and Jesse Were aee required even in North Africa

Let’s give Marcelo time and benefit of doubt. What matters is that whenever he’s fielded he gives GM 110%. Thiago gave 0% and was the highest paid player.Note also the “King” is known for an opaque modus operandi.Remember coach Ze Maria’s contract, conflict with FN. Also now that we got the diluted CAF license who are our CEO,CFO etc.Why is the elected SG so silent? GM needs to move towards being a structurally rather than a personality based club.

      • l tend to concur with Jakoyo that we are signing quite a number of average players who might not even play a single match in the entire first leg of the season. Honestly we need proffesionals to do signing where it’s needed like for example why release Calabar Juniour on loan yet he was to be come our future defender at the same time we have oversigned midfielders and leaves you wondering when will they ever be fielded.
ln my opinion we required a serious natural right winger in the team who could give crosses into the box but we’ve decided to crowd our midfield all the same l’m still optimistic with the team.

Moderation is a bad idea in this column. Admin is selectively” moderating” other peoples opinions. This is bad, tantamount to radical segregation. Admin you are kicking us out as alleged up here

Marcelo off to Europe. Either Belgium or Georgia. We need to accept and move on

Should it be true that Marcelo is off to Europe, I would also commend the EC for making a quick decision of not banking on what was not to be. On the whole I think that players ought not to hold their clubs at ransom. Remember that you were seen while playing for the club

Guys I also think moderation is a technical issue and is not blacklisting per se, I’ve also been a victim and as Ja’Asego says it at times takes so long that it dilutes a posting BUT ITS NO REASON TO EXIT. I personally find the wide range/angle of opinions freshing. Treat Marcelo the same as Muguna, he fact he deserves it more.
