Frank Nuttall impressed by his players

Under coach Frank Nuttall, Gor Mahia have achieved numerous milestones that they had not achieved in the previous years. During the Logarusic and Bonny Williamson era, goals were difficult to come by. Though Gor Mahia had a solid defence they scored very few goals, often winning 1-0 and rarely scoring three goals.

Under coach Nuttall however, the team has been in devastating form. Sunday’s demolition of KCB is perhaps Gor Mahia’s most impressive win in decades. One would perhaps need to go back to the 1980s to find a similar score.

On Sunday Gor Mahia attacked KCB with fluidity and with very good cohesion. Players seemed to know exactly where there team-mates were going to be. There was an air of unselfishness. Michael Olunga who is the club’s leading scorer was also responsible for two assists.

There was also an air of determination as if the players were determined to put their dissapointments behind them.

“I am happy with the boys, the way they played with determination after losing the Cecafa final a week ago. It shows they still have hunger for glory and that was clearly shown on the pitch. Our main aim is to defend the title, and ensure we get as many points as possible from the remaining games. We believe we have the momentum to perform even better in the competition,”. said Coach Nuttall to goal.com

This determination to keep pushing is good. Nuttall will not let the players rest on their laurels. He will ensure that they keep their foot on the accelerator pedal. And of course there is the mashemeji derby which Gor Mahia has not won in a long time.

There is also an air of camaraderie. The players seem to get along well. When Agwanda scored, none other than Kagere whom he had replaced came running from the bench to congratulate Agwanda. This is unlike last season when there was acrimony with some players complaining that the Ugandan players were being paid too much.

Lastly the players are determined to put the late payments of salaries behind them and focus on winning. This level of discipline was also missing last season.

In general Gor Mahia has a strong platform on which to build. If most of this team stays together next season, they could challenge for greater honors. This means fans must do their part financially. And fans must engage in activities that will make corporates want to be associated with Gor Mahia

The article is well written. However the last two lines hold the key for the stability of the club.”And fans must engage in activities that will make corporates want to be associated with Gor Mahia”
May be a forum should be invoked so that it is driven home.

K’Ogalo players and coaches staged a go slow on Tuesday less than 24 hours before they face taxmen in a Kenyan Premier League duel at City Stadium
Gor Mahia players went on strike on Tuesday just 24 hours before their league match against Ushuru at City Stadium.
A player, who spoke to Goal said: “We have done our part but the office is letting us down by not paying us on time. Last Sunday, after the match against KCB no one talked to us about these issues and we agreed to go on strike on Tuesday.”
The player said they are further disappointed by the fact that while the club officials received Sh2million as prize money for finishing runners up in Cecafa Kagame Cup, none of that amount has gone to the players.
Asked whether they will turn up for Wednesday’s league match against Ushuru, the player said: “The game is not even on our minds. We are more focused on us getting paid and we are therefore, disappointed that no one has even bothered to talk to us.”
Goal understands since January, the technical bench has never received full monthly salary with players demanding last month’s dues which include more than ten match bonuses.
“Well, we have decided to stay away from training until the way forward is clear. We believe this is not the way the management should handle us. We want to be paid what is rightfully ours. Why should we give our best but end up suffering? It is not good for us, not good at all.
“The coaches have been suffering on their own, since the beginning of the year they have never been paid in full. They are also owed by the management a large amount of money which I doubt if they will be paid. That is the current situation in camp and if nothing is done, we might as well not honor (Wednesday’s) match

I think this is a good reminder to all those writing good article about Gor. Let us go deep into the shit and sort out this Salary thing once and for all.

The funs should have started a contribution towards rewarding the team towards good performance in Dar. Nothing has happened. Are we forgetting, these boys have a mouth to feed and other mouths to feed as well.

Nuttal has done his part, but the club has no foundational structures to build on all this achievement. Let us not laugh at AFC and other teams that are struggling we are not even a meter away from such challenges.

Look, we loos the coach, and the kagera, xxxxmana, Aucho, Olunga and we are back to drawing board. And ours will be bad since we have taken leave from loosing matches to winning titles mashabiki wataumia

Gor Mahia has its’ own class, guided by tactical shrewdness of coach Prof Frank Nuttall who has built a team’s chemistry that have made players to have a strong fighting spirit and teamwork in the pitch that has left many of our opponents do not know the patter our tactical coach is going to apply in the entire 90 minutes. Of course this has also left our fans and critics alike in great amazement of the ball display in the pitch. Now goals have been coming in styles from Michael Olunga, Meddie Kagere, Khalid Aucho, Enoch Agwanda, Walusimbi, Innocent wafula etc.

Gor Mahia is just a joy to watch in the entire 90 minutes of play. Local coaches have no more blames of the referees, fans, pitch, etc

The best way to motivate this team is to heed to Frank Nuttal’s call which is that fans must fill the stadium especially the home matches. This must start tomorrow Wednesday against Ushuru. And they must pay, sio kuruka fence ama kulipa 50 bob
