Gor Mahia now decline to release Rama

courtesy of goal.com

K’Ogalo secretary George Bwana admits that club officials on Wednesday met with Al-Marhiya representatives and turned down a formal request to sign the striker

Gor Mahia have confirmed they will not allow influential forward Rama Salim to leave the club just yet.

The club rejected a formal request put by Qatari club Al-Marhiya for the signature of the player.

According to Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana, they can only release the player at the end of this season.

“We met with representatives of the Qatari club on Wednesday and while we do not mind releasing the player, he cannot go now. At the moment we are chasing the league title and he can only leave at the end of the season,” Bwana told Goal.

Regarding Ugandan striker Dan Sserunkuma, Bwana says they have reported his agent Ken Joseph to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for allegedly sneaking the player out of the country to attend trials in Armenia.

“We want the federation to take up the matter with World governing body Fifa so that they can punish the agent for violating its statutes on player buying.”

Both Salim and Sserunkuma are back in the country after sneaking out to attend trials in Qatar and Eastern Europe respectively. It is a move that has put the club’s top officials on the spot after fans attacked them for letting the players’ go at a time when they are chasing the league title.

  • And what does the player prefer? Will we force both players to give their best?

So the Ec are waiting for the fans to beat them so they can take action. Kindly we nid the two experienced strikers to help hakina Kevo, Kiongera and Lavatsa upfront. Guys we have a lot of questions which needs answers. Beating is the language they understand better, let them expect more. Kindly tupatie Rama and Danny so that they can adjust before Efusi game. Happy week end to Kogalo fans.

  • Let’s not 4get Faiz’s role,1M offer upped to 2M, surely Marhiya officials did not come 2 c GK trainer. There must be an official(s) who betrayed the 2 players & thats what will coz ill will if only the players r potrayed as guilty

@Jakoyo,y dont u go to another club which u think is not confused . players must learn to emulate Blackberry who helped gor finnish 2nd & was signed without going 4r trials.Gor Mahia FC is a big team & players dont need to go 4r trials to be signed by foreign clubs.Kudos to EC 4r stamping ua authority on players & agents who think that they can simply walk away frm K’ogalo as if they came without procedure. Those who r only intrested in chritiqing Officials should also know that rules r rules & must be fol

rules r rules & must be followed. How can a serious player who is in the verge of winning a league title which he has never won decide to snick away at a crucual moment instead of helping his club win the league.I thought as a player winning the league enriches a players’ CV. Gor players should know that they r senior players & they must have prioryties.which is winning league title and other titles.Concentrate on winning league 4r K’ogalo and clubs will come 4r ua signature without u going 4r trials .

I support you Michael Odhiambo. @4 Pau Akuche pls be gentle. It is wrong to call others stinking fools. Those you call fools have done what they could do. If you are not satisfied with them wait until they finish their term. There is nothing wrong they did in dealing with the transfer business of Rama and Dan. Those two players will stil be commited to the club so you people don’t panic.

Let me start by commending the EC for the step they av taken concerning the 2 players,i think gentlemen some of us now r crossing the boundary,we cried n made alot of noise when the 2 dependable players left for trials, now they r back n we still make alot of noise,i think what the EC is doing is right,we all knw that Rama has less than 1year left on his contract but we need his now more than the 2m this warabu r offering, its better we release him for free after the season ends than giving him for 2m now, lets critic when there is a reason to do so every time we get a chance,we must agree that all of us r human beings n we have our weaknesess so lets not take other pples weaknesess for our streghth, these people av done there part n erection is coming soon if we fell they dont deserve to be in the office lets do it in a proper way thats to erect them out of office,GOR is not a small club as some of us might think,if u r given this club to run some of us might resign the next day.

    EC’s role in Rama’s saga:
    1. Rama goes AWOL,
    2. Faiz(GM Vice Chair no.2) & #wana tell fans that Rama is unwell,
    3. Faiz issues statement that Rama’s is away on trial, Qatari club’s offer of 1m has been rejected, which they increased to 2M and THAT THE DEAL IS OPEN,
    4. GM damu/fanatics riot & attack Bwana over midseason transfer.AR escapes early. Marhiya officials arrived with Rama 2 finalize deal.
5.Bwana & Ngala set Rama’s fee @ 5M! That means 2 some in the EC money was still more important.

@George Ochoro I feel you have completely missed the point. Read my comment again and you will understand what I am referring to. For your information I have not and I will not campaign for anyone. That’s all Sir and thank you.

6.AR suspends GK trainer, is the only official to maintain that neither Rama/Dan have left the club and soon thereafter Bwana announces that Rama can only be sold after season’s end.
4 those claiming now that EC has done well I beg to differ, I think only AR has either changed his mind/remained steadfast.
YES HUMANS HAS WEAKNESS THATS Y WE HAVE STRUCTURES & IT SEEMS AR DELIBERATELY DOES NOT WANT THIS IN GM(NONE & ITS HIS 3RD TERM)
Thx BB,Jb,Paw Akuche etc 4 suppoting structures

The important thing is how does the player feel about the whole saga. We don’t need a Rooney/Suarez drama at this time

  • I think that the obvious thing is that something went wrong in how the two players went for the trials. There would not have been these hullabalos if everything was on the table. My concern is however for the players when they go out in this style. When the club you play for is at the stage that Gor is, it would have been much of a blessing to finish the task. This I think adds more value because then you can point back to something that you have helped the club to achieve.I appeal therefore to them to calm their nerves and play for Mahia until the end of the season. And not just to play but to play for the title.
