Gor Mahia open Top 8 defence against Ushuru
Defending KPL Top 8 champions Gor Mahia will start their KPL Top 8 campaign on Monday when they take on Ushuru. When these two teams last met, the match ended in a scoreless draw. Coach Ze Maria has expressed his intent to make up for that disappointing result.
“It is a good opportunity for us to win the match now that we have been gzziven a second chance. They gave us a lot of opposition in the league, but hopefully we can eliminate them,” said Marcelo
Last year Gor Mahia opened their campaign with an emphatic 3-0 win over Muhoroni Youth at Moi stadium Kisumu. The goals were scored by Kagere, Olunga and Blackberry.
Dangerman Jacque Tuyisenge has been pivotal in all the wins that Gor Mahia have recorded in 2016, scoring crucial goal after crucial goal. he is fit and available for the match. But coach Marcelo is best advised to rest Marcelo. Firstly there is a risk he might pick up another injury and miss the next league match which could spell doom. Secondly, Marcelo needs to sharpen the rest of the attackers who have been below par this season. Its an opportunity for Keli, Agwanda and Blackberry to prove their worth.

Kindly Kogalo don’t go for direct football or power play.That is obsolete football.with that soccca,you can be invincible here in kpl like we were last year but in continental you can’t go past preliminary.am looking forward to technical football with some individual tactical application.The kind of football played by the likes of zesco,Enyimba,m.s undowns,As vita club,Enugu rangers and others.I strongly believe gor mahia has grown beyond direct football which should be played in academies or by Afc leopards,muhoroni,mathare and the likes.no need win big kpl using direct football and head nowhere.we must prepare,practise and play with the best in Africa coz now we got the resources to do that.That’s why I don’t gauge GM with kpl teams.I use the group stage teams to gauge GM level of football.I can see something coming.
