Gor Mahia secretary George Bwana reveals to Goal that Kevin Omondi, Musa Mohammed, Patrick Oboya and Edwin Lavatsa have agreed to a two year extension

Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia have extended contracts of four of their key players by two years.

According to the club’s Secretary General George Bwana, the four Kevin ‘Ade’ Omondi, Musa Mohammed, Patrick Oboya and Edwin Lavatsa have agreed to a two year extension on their contracts that will see them stay at K’Ogalo until 2016.

“I am happy that all the four players have agreed to stay at the club for another two years. This is a sign of good things to come for the club and the players,” Bwana told Goal.

There was already anxiety on the fate of the four players as their contracts were coming up for renewal with reports that they could move elsewhere. The four players were key in helping Gor Mahia win the Kenyan Premier League title in 2013 after an 18 year wait.

Interest in Bonface Oluoch.

According to futaa.com Gor Mahia are  in talks with Tusker FC custodian Bonface Oluoch.

Gor Mahia is in search of a top-notch goalkeeper following the departure of Ivo Mapunda who joined Simba SC on a two-year contract recently.

-We have lined up various options to rope in another top class keeper of Mapunda and Jerry’s class, Gor Mahia Vice Chairman Ronald Ngala told futaa.com,

-We are talking to Oluoch but we also have other options, he added.

Other than Jerim Onyango, Gor has young custodian Joel Bataro who joined the club from Thika United.

  • Much, much better news. The officials still at work should keep it up. It’s good to see Oboya has signed a two year contract. For me he is better than most of our targets.

From the fiasco of the past few days, i suggest that we retain the tried and tested George Bwana and kick everyone else out. At least he has proven that he would rather step aside than burn Kogalo. We are voting in camps of paid voters and that spells doom for our club.

We may cry about Adede but he surely is a creation of Rachier’s methods. He saw the last election and prepared to counter them with an ‘everyone loses’ battle.

Eih Admin, R. Ngala is one Assistant Sec Gen, not vice chair you may end up donating his face to the stones..ha ha.

Truly speaking campaigning on this site is never good for the club and i admire how silently some people put their candidates forward.

@Mcosweto, in your previous blog you’ve described AR rightly but the fact that they’re only two candidates vying for the post of chair it exposes you to be campaigning for Dr. Adede who has become the punching bag of this blog!

It is a disadvantage to those who would genuinely wish to interrogate the candidates as in their past and what would be expected of them when elected.

Surely sure, the current office must take responsibility for the failed elections because they took it upon themselves to organize it, for instance i still wonder if there was an electoral board, who appointed it and who vetted it?who scrutinized the list against those who paid for the elections or are we to be hoodwinked into accepting that it was to be done on the election day at the venue?

When there are no structures as the current management have led GM into, then people will rely on rumors as the only source of info and so others would say some branches were issued with the cards late into Saturday night, why deny other branches! How can you prove and disapprove that in a situation where the elections preparations are shrouded in mysteries?

Those who were at the last elections saw old women and strangers vote and it was not going to be different as all the signs pointed to the wrong.

My take is if we are to have an election let it be an election above board not a forum for parading sycophants to applaud some people for i don’t know what.

Let AR lead GM by being voted in transparently, its possible.

I will not go to previous pledges not because i fear attacks but i believe its enough to plead for a good management of GM beginning with modern elections.

Ooh Laa la a….. “SO FAR SOO GOOD FOR K’OGALO”….

    1. After 18 years of wait we won the league… Kudos
    to AR and team.

    2. After 18 years of wait and with the initial 7 years
in a limbo and with no fanatical base we won the
best team in hooliganism support…KUDOS TO the
    K’Ogalo. “HUMAN Waste branch” ..

    3. After so may years of trouble free elections in the
most recent times we are back to our uncouth and
    uncivilized electioneering process…..Kudo’s to
    ADEDE and team.

My fellow bloggers this list is endless and the more you think about it the more you remain in vicious circle……

After winning the league title AR assumed the KPL chairmanship under the stewardship of one Sam Nyamweya as FKF president. Do you expect him to relinquish that position to ADEDE .? ..NO WAY ;UNLESS OVER HIS DEAD BODY..!!! That is my take and please keep off my comments of which I have the moral authority to defend.

IF YOU WANT FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS THEN GM SHOULD REGISTER ITS EMBERS A FRESH AT FEE OF 1500/= AND YOU WILL HAVE SOME GENUINE 2000 REAL DELEGATES TO CARRY SECRET BALLOT THE AFC WAY.

IF THIS IS TO HAPPEN THEN THEN ONLY GENUINE GOR MAHIA WILL ELECT THE LEADERSHIP THAT WILL TAKE GM TO THE NEXT LEVEL. I STILL BELIEVE THERE ARE EVEN BETTER CANDIDATES THAN THE LIKES OF AR AND ADEDE BUT THIS SHAMBOLIC PROCESS WILL ALWAYS DETER THEM FROM CONTESTING. ADEDE AND AR IS ONE AND THE SAME THING.

That’s a good start by EC. I urge them to to move with speed to sign those players we targeted since the dead line is approaching. We realy need more experienced players to help us in the champions league next year. If we are not serious then we face early exit. Our opponent teams are tough, well organized and serious. Preparations for these tournaments are very expensive and takes alot of money from the club so it will be a big loss if we are knocked out early. We need to reach money brackects. PLEASE CHAIRMAN LET THE TB GIVE YOU PLAYERS AND SIGN THEM.

@ 5 OGANGO TRAILER – You have made my day. Anyway what you are saying is very true.

By Ogango where have you been? You got a little bit quiet and I thought you have been out of the country.

Back to the players’ issue – what about Ssurunkuma’s contract and secondly, how come technical bench rarely uses Oboya yet his contract has been renewed? On Simba sports’ program in Gotv’s transfer updates, I saw like Lavatsa is going to AFC Leopards…so this was just rumours?

Now that Salah, the lethal Sudanese striker is inviting Gor to go for him AR can use that to floor his rival. If we also get Situmbeko then Atudo, then Mieno we will be ready to conquer the continent. Then we add Bonnie to give Jerry compe then what more can we ask for?
Though the election passions are low now we need to put on our thinking hats and see who can drive our club forward. Personally of all the 11 positions on offer only two people should even think of coming back i.e. the chair as well as the hated Sec. Gen. These are the only two people who earned their time at Gor. Of course they had their follies/weaknesses but who doesn’t have any. The rest were surely a disgrace/joy riders and even hearing them on Radio Jambo you would pity the club. Does anybody know what these 9 officers did while at the club. These are the Kilos, Ngalas, Nyandegas, Jaber Machon amongst others. We really need to scrutinize people we elect in office. Gor has very little money for the officials to share with the players and TB so we can only go for whoever will chip in something but not benefit financially from it

Thank you Chairman and SG for the good news. I am sure most of us will now relax.

The perfect gift for us would be the signing of Situmbeko, Kahata, Atudo and Mieno.( just my laymans suggestion).

For all of us who love the club, lets put our election differences aside abd built our beloved club.

i am a critic of Bwana but i too believe the guy shud stay at gor. so too for the chairman. most of these guys being touted to take over, where have they been? the guy challenging Rachier claims that he can build a stadium, my question is, do you have to do it only when elected as chair. most of these guys will play the ‘hoodlum card’. most of the bloggers here or the average decent gor fan do not go to the stadium to vote.it is not that they do not want to but most want nothing to do, with being seen with a hoodlum fraternity. in a way it’s an admission that gor is controlled by hoodlums. it’s the stonethrowers who attend en masse. but Rachier shud just be brave and face these guys. trying to play around with the ballot papers is not the way to go. they know how you got in, they know how you maintain ur seat that means they know how to throw you out. is this a true reflection of the LUO mentality? always bragging about how they hate corruption, how they can manage things better, how suave they are, yada yada yada… what is true is that there is no difference. the elections will always be violent and gor management will always be mediocre unless radical changes are made.so much for a club which has everything falling on it’s path. this is really a big shame. having said that this is my solution. it is not good to critisize without offering a solution, this is mine. use the IEBC in all gor elections. it cost money, but the benefits far outweigh the disaster being seen now. only one problem, the IEBC might refuse coz of image. the gor violent image is not too inviting.

I don’t think Oluoch will make any difference. I think Indeche needs some training and he will be a very good goal keeper. Lets go for him. Any sober Footbal Fan will agree with me. We all know what Oluoch is, he is just like Fransis Onyiso who knew very little of Goal Keeping rules.
