Gor Mahia take on Muhoroni Youth in Kisumu

Gor Mahia are back to premier league action on Saturday when they take on Muhoroni Youth. Kogalo are currently in sixth place with 17 points. It is an opportunity to continue there climb up the log. In their last match against Ushuru, Gor Mahia were less than convincing. Brazilian tactician Jose Marcelo Ferreira though seems content with the performance so far.

“There is only one important result in a game of football, and that is to win the game. The boys have done a good job so far and we need to remain on the right track by winning this game,” he said to the Nation.

Though Gor Mahia’s record against Muhoroni Youth has always been good, they will have to watch out for Wycliffe Ochomo, a former Gor Mahia striker who is in rare form. He has scored six goals to put him atop the KPL scorers chart. And he is keen to continue his scoring record on Saturday.

“I have been contracted by Muhoroni Youth to score and that is exactly what I’m striving do. I think being the title holders Gor are the ones who will be under pressure to conjure up a decent result while we will be a composed side,” said Ochomo to supersport.

The match will be played at Moi stadium Kisumu, Gor Mahia’s spiritual home where the match is sure to be well attended unlike what has been going on in Nairobi recently.

  • The first time I have enjoyed our game this season. Aucho back in his element and Wendo giving a much improved performance…..before his send off(which i think was too harsh) that is!!!

  • I think Nairobi pitches are the worst pitches for kpl matches. The SSMB is doing very little in terms of improving the playing surfaces for both nyayo and kasarani. Gor trains on artificial tuft and finds it easy to play on such pitches like they were used with city stadium. The county gvt of Nairobi scores poorly in terms of a county stadium unlike other counties which is ironical since it is also the capital county. Gor does better football away from Nairobi stadia. My observation!!!
