Despite his six month loan spell ending on Wednesday night, Shaban Kenga reveals to Goal that he wants to continue playing for league champions K’ogalo

Shabaan Kenga may have just but ended Bandari’s hopes of getting him back after his six month loan spell at Gor Mahia elapsed at midnight.

The winger, who was part of Gor Mahia team that played against Tusker on Wednesday in KPL Top 8 semi final, has told Goal that he is not willing to go back to Mombasa but wants to stay on with the league champions.

“I have made up my mind and I don’t want to go back to Bandari. I want to remain at Gor Mahia because I feel at home here. I also feel that I have a better chance of winning titles at this club. Gor Mahia is a big club with a passionate fan base and these are some of the reasons that make me want to remain here.”

Kenga still has a year to run in his contract with Bandari and K’Ogalo are set to engage the coastal-based club in a bid to make his loan move permanent.

On Tuesday, Bandari’s technical director Edward Oduor revealed that the club wanted Kenga to return after expiring of his loan and that they were not ready to negotiate with Gor Mahia on the same.

AFC Still chasing Wanyonyi

AFC Leopards who missed out on a chance to sign promising midfielder Timonah Wanyonyi are still chasing the youngstars signature.

“We are looking at seducing Wanyonyi to join us after his contract with Gor Mahia runs out soon, one of Leopards scouts” said to futaa.com.

Gor Mahia official Ronald Ngala indicated that they are in the process of renewing his signature. “Yes his contract runs out at the end of the month but we are in talks over renewal. AFC Leopards have shown interest of negotiating with us for his signature”, Ngala said

PLEASE PLEASE EXECUTIVE, GET MIENO AS FAST AS YESTERDAY.A WONDERFUL REPLACEMENT FOR TEDDY.WE MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME FINANCIAL MUSCLE AS INGWE WHO ARE ALSO CHASING HIM BUT KINDLY APPEAL TO HIS SENSE OF LOYALTY TO KINSHIP TIES AS THE NOISY NEIGHBORS WILL LIKELY DO WITH WANYONYI.

  • That efusi wnts wanyonyi simply because he is from one of the numerous Luhyia clans is not in doubt, but do they offer better footballing prospect than Gor mahia? The answer is a resounding no. Mieno is a good player but in Gor Mahia he will be an excellent player. Go for him and if we can persuade Olesu Tietieh to join us the better.

Guys the paybill number is still active. And I also hope that we have now registered as members. Waiting for the office to motivate us to do anything is like waiting for a derailed train. It will remain there until the engineers (us) do something.
Our office does not need to be told that we are sitting on a goldmine to assist the team in terms of financial stability. We should be proactive else we lose Wanyonyi, Kenga and the rest of the team during this transfer period.

@Le Pastre, Ingwe cannot and will not offer any footballing prospects near Gor Mahia’s.But you know players and so many others look beyond the technical aspects of a job proposition to the monetary considerations. And most of the time, but not all the time, the monetary motive wins.I pray this is one of those few times that Mieno will choose the footballing aspect(Gor Mahia of course) knowing full well our current financial worries SHALL come to pass.

  • Mieno if you want to grow career wise come to Gor but if you are after money and stagnate your career then you can go to Efusi. We have seen what happened to one time promising defender in Kenya Masika and also players who wish they can play for Kogallo like Atudo.
To our EC try your level best to entice Mieno to have his signature then in Mid him with Baba Kizito we will be able to dominate any team. The ball is in your court EC.

Mieno,Mieno, Mieno is it not that there was a time he flatly refused to play for Gor and I think then there was more to do with monetary aspects than the prestige and pride of playing for “home” team.He has been a good player ever since his young days at KCB, and locally very few can match his midfield prowess, perhaps only the likes of Pinchez when on form. Get him even if on whatever terms, we will raise funds in our usual Kogalo style to pay up.

Kenga,Kenga,Kenga who will do something to hold onto him? Aiiiiiyhhh we might lose this one as well!!

Did I see that Dan Ssere is on AFC radar among those thay want to poach? They cannot do that surely, why does Efusi always spoil for war?

@ jathur gi ji, not only Danny, they want Rama too. Will money overcome loyalty?

Those are psychological wars!! It works sometimes. Why cry for the EC to do something yet we have the Mpesa and membership program to bring us over 10m per month? If we do our bit as fans then even the money Ingwe is boasting off cannot come close to what we can have. We should stop lamenting/whinning and do what we are supposed to do.
