Kogalo take on Chemelil

Scottish gaffer Bobby Williamson will today get his first opportunity to see his game plan in action when Gor Mahia take on Chemelil Sugar at Nyayo stadium.

“I am aware of the enormity of the task ahead. But football is all about pressure. Everywhere you go, you will face pressure. As coaches, we have to live with it and that’s why I am here and my intention is to bring success,” Williamson said last week to the Nation.

The Sugarmen have always been a tough nut to crack. The last four matches between these two teams have resulted in two wins for Gor Mahia and 2 draws.  “Gor is a good team technically and tactically. We respect them, but we don’t fear them. Our preparations have been okay and everybody is ready for the match.  It will be a tough game,” said Mike Mururi coach of Chemelil.

Gor Mahia will be without new signing Paul Odhiambo who is injured.

Coach Williamson also asked fans to give Patrick Oboya time to regain his fitness. Oboya’s ITC has finally arrived from the Slovakian Federation. “He has not played for about eight months, so it’s upon him to prove this further if he is up to the game and he will get the opportunity,” added Williamson.

  • Haki Gor……First there was Rodriguez the Brazilian who was recruited by the team but was unfit. Now Oboya! Even papa Shirandula is in better shape than these guys. I think the current crop of leaders at Gor were the ones who never did homework at school.

  • For once Ingo is right & I thank the good Lord for giving us serious coaches. Now we have to rehabilitate Oboya while the club pays him, secondly the guy has a short term contract so by the time he attains fitness off he goes. Is the executive community serious with club’s administration as even the players are paid thru cash envelopes.

Ingo you forgot to mention Felixinho Nwosu, the Naija fellow who lives in Eastlands but claimed he came straight from Enugu.

Not to mention Abbey Nattey who was signed so that an EC member can pocket transfer money,

Also Anthony ballotieno who was signed because he chengad some Kogalo players in a friendly.

@Oduor 12.I strongly concur with you that legends be voted in in the coming elections as opposed to those whose aims are to use the Gor posts as springboard to politics. We want officials who are dedicated to the Mahia course and my bet is that past players are better placed to serve this.
