Nuttall : Good Preparations are key

Having escaped imminent defeat thanks to a late goal by George Odhiambo “Blackberry” and an earlier one by Ali Abondo, coach Frank Nuttall is determined that the team will prepare much more seriously for their encounter with AC Leopards of Congo-Brazza. To begin with, Nuttall is busy searching for videos that will give him clues about the tactical approach of the Fauves Niari as the Congolse side are popularly called as well as which players they should prepare for.

“I am looking for videos of AC Leopards, our focus is now how we can qualify to the second round,” said Nuttall to supersport.com

“We must improve. We must work harder than we did previously.” he continued

Given that AC Leopards have reached the closing stages of various continental competitions in the last two years, it should be feasible to obtain full length videos.

Coach Nuttall freely admits that the Fauves Niari are the better side. But with self belief, Gor Mahia can overcome the odds.

“AC Leopards already has a history. They were second last season and Gor Mahia could not go past the first round. But that should not deter our ambition. If you consider the current status of the two teams, then we will be the underdogs in this fixture. But we must not only believe in ourselves but also prepare well for the game.”

Ali Abondo impressed with the team’s growth

One player who has been in sensational form this season is returnee Victor Ali Abondo who has found the back of the net 5 times in his last 6 appearances. Abondo believes the team is going from strength to strength since it was re-assembled in January.

“We are growing well as a team and I do believe we can only get better,” said the Kisumu lad to supersport.

He lauded his team-mates for their fighting spirit that enabled them to leave Madagascar triumphant.

“It was not going to be easy for us, but we fought to the final minute. We are fast developing belief which is good for the team. The team spirit is there. Everybody is working for each other for the team’s success. It is my belief that we can only get better.” continued Abondo.

  • Now that is a real pro. When Frank Nuttall speaks, he does so consummately. I am convinced that this coach has the wear-withal, technical and the desire to take Gor into the Group Stages of the 2015 CAF Champions League. I hope the EC will provide him with the necessary materials to help him succeed with Gor Mahia.

    Am surprised that this post:
    1. Elicited absolutely no comment from fellow bloggers be it positive or negative. Though I think Admin also hurriedly put up another post. thus eclipsing it.
    2. Self belief on an empty stomach? Maybe for Alice in Wonderland.
Peter Kenneth gave GMFC a “grant”. Does that mean GMFC will have to refund the money? Thank-you Mr. Kenneth but Jo-Kogalo show some PRIDE WHEN WILLING THE BEGGING STOP.

    3. Jakom has given fans a challenge? He needs your response so that if he does’nt act on them then he should also stop this “tabia” of playing to fans emotions with financial appeals whenever GMFC makes a small qualification. Why can’t he /EC plan for these foreseen challenges.
What is EC and the so called members who voted and vote for him doing?
Will he account for the money raised?
He has not called a AGM, neither has he ever presented audited accounts and claims that GMFC gate collections are a paltry 9M a season.
Under what conditions are we going to give him the money i.e what guarantees do we need from him and is he willing to commit to these? Certainly not with GMFC operating under the Society’s Act.
Let’s give Jakom so feedback to this direct appeal.

Fellow bloggers we cannot just keep quiet when Jakom sends out an appeal.

    My response to Jakom is:
1.I am willing to commit kshs.500.00 per month towards GMFC’s financial stability but only if GMFC converts to a sacco. Already you’ve have registered one please use it because I cannot give my money to GMFC while it operates under the Society’s Act. This sacco must own GMFC fully.
    2. I will give you 3 months contribution in advance. I.e kshs.1,500. If you convince just 8,000 of persons GMFC will be raising kshs.12,000,000 in the begining of January, April, July & October every. In a year GMFC will be getting kshs.48,000,000 from us.
2.In return for my financial support i expect priviledged entry, and guaranteed/vantaged sitting position during GMFC’s home matches. gauranteed security, discounted tickets of 150. Why should I arrive at the stadium 5 hours earlier to get a seat with fans whom may even be bribing their way in with 50bob. People are busy so EC make it convenient for them to watch matches.

Yes Comrade Mwakio we/I am repeating the same thing over & over again but so do we go to the mosque or church once or more every weekday. I know you get my drift usichoke!

    • Ingo why so quiet.
Did you migrate to Wonderland with AFC where Logarusic is threatening to fire players who will not impress him.
How can they impress him when they are hungry and homeless having only been paid part of their December salaries and we are now in March.
Ama this St. Logarusic does not love money and saw the light while away in Croatia as was Saul on the road to Damascus.

Wana K’galo if we’ve don’t act I see the problems bedeviling AFC reaching us soon especially with our “high wage bill” Players like Kagere and coaches like Nutall don’t come cheap.

From what Abondo has said above, it is obvious that the Team spirit is catching up and that is a good thing. This must be inculcated in everybody:the team, Ec and the funs at large. We must drive out the underdog tug. As much as there are realities of challenges but that is not going to be our greeting and byes whenever we open our mouths. just like I said yesterday Chwo to Chwo duto. Ng’at man gi ludhe okaw akawa. But please do not get me wrong I am gender sensitive yawa..

oduor12…i totally agree with your suggestions of raising cash. However,my problem lies with the EC.Bloggers here have come up with very prudent ways of raising cash for the team but the EC are either playing damn or just don’t want to implement them!!
