Rachier contradicts Kahata

Chairman Ambrose Rachier has said that the club wanted Kahata to stay and made an offer.

“Kahata’s situation was like Meddie Kagere’s; he had run out of contract with us and neither of the two parties had an obligation to extend it. However, we wanted him to stay and we had an offer for him. Simba SC took the advantage and gave him a better package which we could not match.”  he told goal.com

“Like most players, Kahata chose to leave and we could not stop him because his contract with us had expired. He is a good player; we could have wanted him to stay but we could not offer him what Simba was offering.” continued Rachier.

Rachier had earliest stated in an interview with Citizen Sport that the club never asks players to stay. If a player is interested in extending his stay at Gor Mahia, its up to the player to approach club management on the issue.

This is a contrast to how most other top clubs are run. Most clubs never let a key player’s contract run out. They always make an offer to extend it several months before it ends. This way when the player leaves, the club can gain from transfer fees. At Gor Mahia, many top players leave with the club making no transfer fees.

Kahata: No one approached me for contract extension.

In a separate interview with goal.com on July 6, Kahata stated that no one at the club ever approached him to extend his contract.

“My contract with Gor Mahia had expired and as usual, the officials at the club could have approached me over an extension. However, none did that; I waited but it was all in vain,” said Kahata.

“On the other hand, Simba have been following me and showed they wanted me in their team, so I had to make a decision.

“Leaving Gor was not an option for me, but I was forced to do that because I felt my services were no longer needed.

“The decision to join Simba was football related, if I could have received an offer from Gor Mahia, I could have stayed.” he concluded to goal.com

  • There you have it IN BLACK AND WHITE.
You’ve heard it straight form the horses’ mouths.

Sida ni management of club suffers but bet you me officials are earning commissions by “letting these contracts lapse” and from these “free transfers”.
Even if players qualify for the moneyed CAF group stages and earn the club kshs.27m etc they are paid an incommensurate 100k per player i.e kshs.3m for all players. That’s why they are opting out and it’s hurting the club- WE YET TO WIN A CONTINENTAL / REGIONAL TITLE.
Transfer fees can / should be a major source of CLUB REVENUE for any upright club official(s).

  • you should give talented players long contracts at least we would have gotten at least 10 million from simba…gor should hire an experienced C.E .O…to help them out…wakona Tamaa imagine Walusimbi started playing for kaizer before payment of transfer fee…madness

That Cartel is only interested in getting a cut of player sign on bonus. But sign on bonus only happens if a key player like Kahata has to be replaced by another big player.

If instead the existing player extends his stay, he will not get a cut of the sign on bonus because there will be no new player to sign.

Thats why the Cartel did not ask Kahata to extend his contract.

@Ambrose Rachier/Gor Mahia, why do you not extend players contracts before they expire so that when they leave, the club can earn some transfer fee? Since you let players leave the club for free , then stop complaining of financial challenges. Just don’t mention it again because we have known the truth.

This Rachier guy really 'owns' Gormahia. This is what happens when officials overstay in office. However Gor fans should not complain especially after the Rachier is going nowhere campaigns.
This is surely one of the most stupid comments i've ever heard from a football club official.

Now who is foolish who? Kahata I was never approaching, Rachier he was to come and make a request ok now that he’s gone what next? let’s work with what we have period because it seems the club is too old to hire high calibre players. this is where the wonderful phrase of ” ACCEPT AND MOVE ON” now comes in.

  • Let us not mourn too much when these old guards leave. The truth is that even if they sign 5 year deals, they will make a name and eventually leave for free. They will not accept to extend if it will compromise their move to a better paying league and club. Case in point is Shakava. That happens even abroad.

That’s why i’m very happy when we go local because at least some of our ‘very own’ can get opportunities like Olunga, Calabar and Akumu did.

Now that we are not ready to register as members or attend our matches, it’s better to let the club improve as many lives of our young local boys as possible. Recruit and Sell as many as possible every season.

People have not refused to register as members. It is the club which is still using the old, manual, analogue registration method. Let them go digital and let members do e-registration, you will be surprised at how registered members number will oversuddenly go up.

  • I now understand that even OLD RACHIER MUGABE is also corrup this is because of kahata contradiction and also keeping silent on Aduda & S. Bolo Saga, this therefore means that mugabe is eating vry well with them hence we dont expect mugabe to tell us no money issues yet he has allowed corruption to take place. second i wont register if there’s no accountability of club fund & corruption free unles mugabe & his lords of corruption quit the club for a new blood.

we must understand that you can never force a player to sign a contract, and with our financial disability , the clubs like simba will always have their way, players come and go, we only need to recruit young talented players we can afford to have

Either side can request for contract extension Kahata’s agent could inquire about extension so both parties are not sincere with the information they are giving us . The main issue hear is not contract they are doing away with rebellious players just watch the space and join the dots Ador said sometimes back about six players hope the number is almost complete may one or two is remaining, whose contract wouldn’t be renewed you can guess the players who are leaving soon.
