Despite the injured defender saying he will not play for K’Ogalo again, chairman Ambrose Rachier says they will renew his deal that ends in June

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has said that the team will strive to renew contract of Solomon Nasio after it expires in June.

On Tuesday, Nasio exclusively told Goal that he will not renew his contract with the club after his injury predicament but Gor Mahia chairman now says he has talked to technical bench and they will keep the player.

“He is one of the most experienced players we have and a long serving one because even when I came here I still found him. I have talked to the technical bench and they have said he will be put on a good recovery training path after undergoing surgery and we will renew his contract,” Rachier told Goal.

“It is up to him to decide whether he will accept the offer because again we can’t force him.”

Nasio has been out with a nose injury and underwent surgery on Wednesday after football fans came out and helped raise funds when he raised red flag that the club had neglected him.

“This is an injury that has been there for the last three years,” Rachier said adding,“Before, we have been treating him at Aga Khan Hospital and it is only this time that it escalated and due to our financial predicament we were not able to help him out fully. However we have also come in to help for surgery.”

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier was grateful after Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero handed the club four sets of uniforms on Wednesday 21 May at the Nairobi City Stadium.

Speaking after the presentation, Rachier said the away jersey is a huge reprieve to the club who are undergoing financial crisis.

New kit

-This is an away kit because we use green at home and white away and we are very happy for the gesture from our Governor, he said.

Gor Mahia will have a test of the new kit when they face Chemelil Sugar on the road on Thursday 22 May at the Mumias Sports Complex.

  • Thanks a million Mr. Governor, if only our politicians could be as generous, most of them are very quiet when K’OGALO needs help, when elections are around the corner you will see them hanging around and praising GOR

  • Jo nam……..,Kudos kidero, if only our community could rally behind such people. This is what has infuriated raila odinga…..am sorry to say this but raila odinga and kidero do not see eye to eye because of this squabbles of who should be seen to the leader in loud community. If kidero increases his financial capacity at gor Mahia, there will be trouble because raila odinga camp will step in and sabotage the whole deal., in fact everything, how sad.

Am sorry bloggers to say this in public but the reality with people from nyanza is that we don’t want to succeed as a community. When once does well, tuna chochea until he looses everything! And that would explain why nobody from our community want to support gor Mahia and see it do well and when people want to kick kidero out of nairobi, everybody keeps quiet, nobody to defend him ! Nyiego itatumaliza……

If only the zeal Midiwo, Kajwang’ ,Anyang’ Nyong’ et al put the zeal they have for politics to assist Gor we would be very far. Anyway the modern voter prefers someone like Mutua, Cyprian and Kidero as they politic less and work more. Let’s also have a Gor elders committee consisting of respected Kenyans from all over the country to help provide leadership by advising the EC. Thanks Governor.

  • Mr. Rachier, I hope you have discussed this statement about Nasio with the manager. We do not want a scenario where the playing unit is being decided/selected by EC, like I suspect happened in AFC. The coach must have the final say on the playing unit. I know you want to be heard but the coach must remain the most important person as far as footballing decisions are concerned.

Secondly, as much as we are excited by what Kidero’s and co are offering, I would like to caution that you must treat these politicians with a lot of care. They don’t have free money to dash. They always want something in return. It may turn out to be very expensive because they will disappear quickly. Also, they will play very dirty games with you to the extent the Gor brand will be very limited in exposure. Be very careful when you associate with these guys

SIASA mbaya maisha mbaya. Kidero is like MWAKIO of this blog while R.A.O is the head of ng’udis of this blog ( with their ring leader being the “Kampala diaspora based K’Ogalo fanatic with his hypocritical tag line ” For God and my beloved club” . Shame on you 4 preaching water during day and sipping kumi kumi magizani. SIASA ukoloni mambo Leo.

I schooled in Maranda ( Josupembe ” Orando passy”) with one Alogo( step bro to the family)and Wayodi ( first cousin to the family) during my “A” levels and I know that family very well like nobody else. I know Kang’o Ka JARAMOGI like the back of my hand. I rest my case 4 know .

But I had the opportunity to work with “EK” as my MD while at NMG after and he his what he is. With no strings attached offered his charismatic leadership skills to many of us. Wivu nayoo in the likes of kina Orengo and kajwang who are spent force and will never cease from activism. Bure KABISA.

Am in Mumias to ensure maximum points even if I will be a one man army. Keep you posted kesho, from kick off and after every 5 minutes.

@OGANGO TRAILER with all due respect, kindly tell members of this blog what you have done for Gor Mahia apart from behaving like jakwath, insulting people left right and centre. The last time I checked the list of contributors, I cannot remember having seen your name anywhere yet you shout loudest about jok mangudi. Shame on you.
I don’t mind sharing with you the tag line “For God and my beloved club” Please feel free to use it as well since you are not a hypocrite.

  • With all due respect, I think it is not right to read politics in any every thing. This kind of gesture I believe was done in good faith at the time of need.Problems are no respecter of any body. I would say that even if the Money came from sources that are considered opponents, please take it and make good use of it. Let us continue to solicit funds for K’Ogallo.
