Various Reactions from players and technical staff

According to Supersport, Gor Mahia assistant coach Anaba Awono admitted he was deeply disappointed by his team’s performance in the 3-0 thrashing by AFC Leopards on Sunday. “I’m very disappointed with the heavy loss since this was my first major assignment as the team coach. It pains a lot considering the time and effort we made during in training. It was a woeful performance and I feel our defence did not live up to our expectations.” The Cameroonian however maintained that the team will bounce back from its latest setback. “We haven’t lost hope. We are going to bounce back in a big way and reclaim our strong position. We are not yet out of it as the league is tough and wide open. I believe we will overcome and get back to our winning ways.’

Also according to Supersport, AFC Leopards head coach Jan Koops attributed Sunday’s 3-0 win over their traditional rivals Gor Mahia to adequate preparations. Koops said the one week camp facilitated by the club’s sponsors Mumias Sugar had helped him prepare his team well ahead of the derby.

“Our training camp in Mumias helped us bond and come up with a winning combination. Our sponsors gave us adequate environment where we trained well with no disturbance or interference. We really enjoyed ourselves and even in training, you could even smell the taste of victory.”

He also paid tribute to the 12th man for cheering the players from the word go to the last whistle. “Sometimes a team suffers poor run of form and then it regains its winning ways. I was worried of the losses but I’m delighted that the technical bench, playing unit, the office and our sponsors have all teamed up together to come up with a winning formula. The journey has started and I believe we have a bright future ahead”

Skipper Jerim Onyango blamed lack of mental preparedeness -After conceding the first goal, the players were demoralized which affected their output. We also had other chances after that but we failed to convert them. This was another source of frustration. Thee best thing in life is how you rise from your low position and I believe that we will continue working hard in the coming matches, concluded the captain.

On his mistake that cost K’ogalo the first goal, Onyango said that it was a matter of poor timing.

Midfield maestro Collins Gatusso Okoth has blamed his teammates’ lack of concentration and dedication for their 0-3 humiliation by AFC Leopards in a KPL derby on Sunday 2 October at Nyayo National Stadium. Okoth Okoth who is currently training with Harambee Stars said that his colleagues were uncommitted.  The funniest thing amongst the K’ogalo players is that they are always satisfied with any result, be it positive or negative. Lack of maturity in the team is really costing us, instead of playing for good results we are after just appeasing our pals on the terraces, he added.

Meawnhile there has been no reaction from Ambrose Rachier as the ship continues to sink. It is worth noting that Kogalo might face Ingwe again soon in the FKL cup. At this rate, Ingwe will surely dash any hopes of playing continental football next season.

After reading “Blackberry’s” sentiments elsehere on this website, there isn’t a shadow of doubt that Zico’s time at K’Ogalo is up. It pains to imagine that a professional football coach would sink so low to the level of getting personal with his players – can’t understand why the likes of Kitawi were benched out of the team. What is happening to Kiplagat, Wekesa, Awilo etc? We need a manager who is professional and treats players on nothing but merit. I happened to learn from some reliable quarters that even at national team level, some of our local coaches who have had the opportunity to handle the team had the audacity to claim a fee from players in exchange for a call-up!!! This is serious and a strong case for a foreign coach even at clubs level.

i wish to this early opprtunity to congratulate all my coeagues for fasttracking the establishment of the Bloggers branch. This gonna be the newest K’Ogalo branch specifically to take the club mania to the cyber space.

I do hope this new branch is going to discharge it’s mandate in tandem with the club constitution. Remember this is only a branch. The club officials still call the shots on policy and critical decisions that affects day to day running of the club.

Finally I shall be happy if you invite me at the launch ceremony. I can be contacted through plelerue@yahoo.com. I wish you well.

My brother Pareiyo..if i understand your sentiments well, i think your fear is that this branch may intend to override the EC.

It never happens anywhere, to take you back to the late eighties when some of us were young fans in the small towns at the country side, branches existed then and they were meant to facilitate GM agenda of promoting football and talents, which they effectively accomplished..some people in this blog will testify to you about their parents having been branch members and contributed more so financially.

Hence the idea of branches is not a new thing, they existed from as early as GM was formed and i repeat they did not compete any mandate of the EC but contributed to the club mainly financially and contributors were very happy and satisfied to be members, they traveled as branches then.

Actually what fans are doing today has not matched that which was done by the previous generation in fact ours you can see is more of pathetic drunkenness and violent than financially benefiting to the club.

Lastly i believe we are coming together to enhance an organized means of articulating issues concerning our club by being members..responsible members together with other branches, not an outfit to shout down everyone or anyone.Mark you some of us have seen the benefiting ways of being constructive members and are happy to have been a part of some club development issues.

  • mimi ni fan wa INGWEE but i plead with COLLINS OKOTH that as one of the senior players in the club,he should lead from the front and not criticise them esp.in the media, this not the first time he has done so(hata against KCB alisema).some of his teammates are young players who need proper guidance and to me, Okoth,as a pro, needs to provide PROPER leadership.

  • SAFE JOURNEY GUYS

The ACN qualifier match between Uganda Cranes and Kenya’s Harambee Stars at the Nelson Mandela stadium on Saturday is promising to be a do or die for both teams.

We still have unfinished business with the Ugandans. First they came, raised their own flag, took away the biggest tilapia and continue to occupy Mijinjo ( to paraphrase their spokeman). Secondly when they came to Nairobi on the first leg of the qualifiers, they insulted us and filmed on TV terming Oliech as a hairdresser at Auxerre and MM a bench warmer at Inter Milan.

We are therefore going to settle the mattle on the field once and for all. I will try to do the prediction. I will leave that to Carol Radull . To all the fans who gonna be travelling to Uganda either by road or air, i wish you a very safe journey to and back home.

Finally I wish to take this early opportunity to thank most sincerely all the sponsors and specifically, His Excellency the Vice President through The Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation for his generous contribution towards this noble cause. The CEO Mumias sugar, the MP for
Makadara , Hon Gideon alias sonko and Nairobi town clerk deserve my mention for their support. Oh

As I mentioned a while back, I can “feel”, “smell”, “see” something pleasant that we’ll hold onto for a very long time! In other words I can “see” the goals, skills, titles i.e. class is permanent & that is KOGALLO. All & sundry must now rally behind Gor Mahia; Kenya’s soccer signature, to ensure that we re-confirm resoundingly our strongest position both locally & continentally.

As for AFCON this weekend, am confident coz each Kenyan player is individually gifted, brilliant & experienced; we are going to prevail against the cranes come saturday that I can guarantee. 3 goals – oliech, barasa, own goal…ugandans might pull one back in the last quarter

@Jabilo, thanks for the bloggers idea. We must take up the initiative & responsibility because who knows:- our sons, grandchildren & generations to come could play for Kogallo or be associated with the club in future & what joy would it be that their very own played a significant role. am in…..opudos@gmail.com
