Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack has cast doubt on his future with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions.
The British coach, who joined K’Ogalo at the start of the 2019-20 season, has exclusively told Goal he would love to see through his two-year contract with the club, which comes to a close next season, but he was not sure if that will indeed be the case.
“I have a contract [with Gor Mahia] to the end of next season, so you know, so I am here until then for sure,” Polack told Goal on Wednesday.

“But like I say in football you never know what is going to happen, football is completely different to any other business, and you never know what tomorrow is going to bring.”
Asked if he had received any offers from different clubs, Polack said: “I keep reading the teams who want me but nobody in this world has given me a call or have contacted me.”
Asked whether he is committed to Gor Mahia, Polack explained: “Of course yes, of course, but like I said tomorrow you will never know, the club [Gor Mahia] could tomorrow say, they don’t want me, so will I stay on if they don’t want me?
“So I just want to do my work for the best of my ability and then we can just move on from there but let’s just see how things unfold.
“The way the situation is with the coronavirus pandemic and then we have the resources, the financial struggles of the club, let us just get over this first and see where we can go from there.
“That is the best thing you know, we need to get over this because it is not easy for clubs [not Gor Mahia alone in KPL], so we need to get over the problems and then tackle the other issues later when everything is back to normal.”
The former Asante Kotoko coach guided Gor Mahia to the season curtain-raiser trophy and was on course to clinch the KPL title when the league was banned indefinitely owing to the Covid-19 outbreak.
While the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has moved to crown Gor Mahia the champions, the KPL has insisted the fate of the league is not decided yet.

Gor Mahia’s assistant captain, Joash ‘Berlin Wall’ Onyango, has dismissed reports that he is on his way out of the club and he is heading to Tanzania giants Simba SC.
The centre back has said nobody from Simba SC has approached him and neither is his agent Osman Ahmed aware of any interest from the Tanzanian club, known among its fans as ‘Wekundu wa Msimbazi.’
Simba SC spokesman Haji Manara was on Monday quoted by Tanzania media as saying they had singled out one Gor Mahia player whom they will sign up when the transfer window opens in August.
However, Manara didn’t reveal the name of the player with but reports indicate that the player in question could be Onyango or club captain Kenneth Muguna. Both are key players at Gor.
On Tuesday, the Kenyan international said he is only open to leaving Gor Mahia when his contracts expires in December.
“These reports are all over the media yet nobody from Simba has contacted me or my agent. I have not received any offer from them so I don’t think I am the player they are talking about,” Onyango told Nation Sport on Tuesday.

I think we should all look into ways of maintaining our best players for next season duties being, we cannot end up blaming Rachier as if he is suppose to use his personal money or he participated in sponsor exit. Some of the loud voices here are gate crushers or soferset fans. we all have responsibility to support team with whatever little Gor being a community club.
Further,Gor mahia cannot be recognized as a Luo community club and when its in financial turmoil, the community begins blaming officials for lack of finances. This, is unacceptable and am pretty sure already the club owes Chairman quite a lot of money that the community cannot even dare give refund promise soon.
We also as a community must ensure we put in place the Club in the business front and not just depending on Sponsors and gate collections, this way we may not see the club do any better. Community through the officials must ensure all merchandises are sold and retailed through the club only. As well, the club must organise itself to import sufficient uniform from Umbro that can be wholesaled to registered retailers only who then will make sure they generate margins for the club income to be stable. Moreover, as a community we must venture the club into money generationg activities like restaurants clubs, car parking and any other so that the club bears a stable income status for the better and not relying only on Gate collectins and official shirt sponsors.
Club memebrship: As a community ,Membership to the club must be considered a very serious drive whereby each and every year for one to be allowed to post, commet and participate in Gor mahia activities and affairs one must be a duly registered member with monthly contribution in a good standing.
In this case, if we could have 500k members well registered at only Ksh. 500. this will generate close to Ksh.250million every year. and a renewal of 500k members at only Ksh.200 will definitely generate another Ksh.1.200,000,000 per year. Therefore,gentlemen with this we do not need to even charge our fans at the gate whenever we have home matches. As a community do we really think we cannot afford ksh.500 par year and Ksh.200 per month each for only 500k people?????. I assure you we can do it big with this particular idea and even hire one of the best big five audit firms to assess our books and do away with the fear of looting in the club.
With so many supporters’ initiatives why and how are Gor Mahia performing players unpaid for 5 months.

Save Gor Mahia by joining forces to form an open & 100% transparent salary fund to directly pay performing players and TB. Fans and members can contribute monthly and the players & TB paid. @Charles , Circular firing squad aside , I am at a lose when you intimate that there is no value in being a registered member of Gor Mahia , I am at a lose because my understanding of being a member is that it allows you to be on the table when Fundamental decisions affecting Gor are being made e.g a new constitutional /structural architecture , but more fundementally , being a registered member enables you to VOTE in the right personel in the executive to implement those structures and programs you so often eloquently expouse .
Failure to recognise the sytemic nature of the rot in Gor Mahia is to mislead one to misplaced single phase simplistic personalised solutions to time enabled institutional rot .
How else would one get that right person in office if the individual doesnt enable the formation of a critical mass to own and enforce those changes , and how would that happen if you are not a Voter and when we leave the MOST CRITICAL FUNCTION in Gor Mahia ( Elections) to hired belly up miscreants .

Without the second signature the cheque was a worthless piece of paper.
Lessons.
Never give your money directly to the current GMFC office/ officials and never accept a cheque payment from current GMFC office/ officials.
Collect GMFC membership through branches and GMAF through monthly contributions for paying salaries of players and TB directly.
Bad leaders are elected by the good people who dont Vote , and to mention opportunists like Jaro Soja in any serious conversation is kinda unserious .
The likes of Ngala , Nyangi were voted in by the few who turned up to vote or to put it another way -again , by the majority who didnt turn up to Vote or probably those who voted through keyboard lamentations .

@JamiRiambo , If there is one thing you and I agree on , indeed what everyone on this blog , I believe including a one Mr Charles , Is that there is a serious problem with the management of Gor Mahia , what now should be the subject of engagement is how subject to avenues available to us as lovers of this club , we can use to right this wrong , I repeat , the avenues legally available to we the fans .
All these lamentations I read on these blogs are just but consequences of actions or inactions of the same fans and for one reason , the management doesnt choose itself , it is the consequence of the tiny minority who came out to vote while that critical mass who seem to always have the answers chose , for in my opinion , spurious reasons and excuses chose not to .
There are hundreds of thousands , if not millions of well meaning Gor Mahia followers , you included , in contrast to the hundred or two hooligans you have used in your post as an excuse and sadly , because of your “the glass is half empty train of thought ” , that tiny ill meaning minority will always win.
I wish to remind you of one sad example to when one visionary leader in the name of one Leslie Okudo who came up with measures , over two decades ago , and were they to be implemented , we would be far beyond the likes of Present day Simba Sports club , sadly , the low IQ tiny minority won , and for the same reasons they continue to win to this day .
Let me use one non football example , and they are many , to buttress my point , moreso what informs my low opinion of the sorry excuse of what we classify as keyboard warriors of kenya and their excuses for inaction despite their impressive critical mass , one of the most vicious regime in Africa , I.e Al Bashir’s Sudan , was brought down by millions of unarmed citizens , who despite having real reasons not to turn out on the streets , decided , largely using social media to mobilise ,to turn out , compare and contrast with our loud lamenting kenyan/Gor brothers .
This world has choices , you can decide to choose that it cannot be done and why , or you can choose that it can be done and how , both ways have consequence and in our case , the consequence is what we are currently experiencing .
