Late registration for Gor Mahia

From michezoafrika.com

Kenya’s 2012 representative to the CAF Confederations cup Gor Mahia FC will use the late CAF player’s registration option to their advantage to ensure the club finalize on their transfers.

The late registration will attract a 500 US Dollar penalty but will ensure the club has a chance to complete Rwandese Meddie Kagere’s transfer plus formalize other transfers with the KPL.

“We are yet to finalize on the transfers. Meddie Kagere is in our radar and we thinks it’s better we send our list late and pay the fine but have our best players”, Said Gor Secretary General George Bwana.

Gor Mahia will face Mozambique side Ferroviario de Maputo Mozambique in CAF Confederations cup first preliminary round next year. Gor Mahia will travel to Mozambique for the first leg on a date between February 17th and 19th before the return match in Nairobi on a date between March 2nd and 4th 2012.

Tricky but a clever option, USD 500.00 is a small amount considering what some of the new players can bring to the club. Meddie shud join soon, I gather the player is quite interested, looks like next season is going to be great to watch, can’t wait, especially the local league and confederations cup.

  • Very good idea but let us ensure that we are not locked out from the CAF competition. This Rwandese player will help us in a great deal.

Admin. research n give us the facts.
1 Tusker sent an initial list and are to add the new signings later hence avoiding the penalty
2 What is the deadline for late registration
3 Let our EC be well versed on the requirements of participating in continental soccer, even local so as to avoid unnessesary penalties

@ODUOR12, hold your horses. Admin are working on the matter. It is not we bloggers to exert unnecessary pressure in the office. Our job is to support the team and propose new ideas to the office.

    Meanwhile below is latest from futaa;
Gor Mahia target Kagere running rings in Rwanda

After a fine showing at the CECAFA competition in Tanzania in December 2011, it was like a foregone conclusion that Rwanda’s Meddie Kagere would be on many clubs’ wish list and it came as no surprise when Gor Mahia placed a bid for him immediately after.

    Fine form

The striker, who emerged as the top scorer in the tournament has continued with his fine run of form in the Primus Rwandan League, as a confirmation that the CECAFA exploits were not a one off showing. He leads his team, Police FC of Kabungo, from the front and has managed to score seven of his team’s 14 goals after eight games.

Kagere is the top scorer in both his team and the league, with his team lying second on 18 points behind Mukura FC who have amassed 20 points so far.

    Unbeaten

Having scored 50% of his teams goals so far this season, Kagere has not only helped his team lead among the teams with most goals but Police is the only unbeaten side having conceded only once, winning five and drawing thrice.

    Advanced negotiations

Information from both the Gor Mahia and Police FC camps indicates that negotiations over a deal for the striker are at an advanced stage with the Kenyan side expecting to use Kagere in the forthcoming CAF Confederations Cup tournament.

Club officials and Football Kenya know the rules better than us. Let us assemble good players and have better preparation that can give good results than hurry and give poor results. That fine a small to the club. Kogalo hooyee

@no4 mwakio.i dont think that oduor12,@3,really exerted any form of pressure on the admin. All he asked for was a clarification on the rules/deadlines on filing the teams’ reps/players to caf.In other words what oduor12 is saying is whether we can send the team list to caf in batches so as to be able to avoid the caf penalty (just as tusker did),as we wait for the new signings to’ fully’ join kogallo. This to me seems to be reasonable appeal and does not in any way amount to exerting pressure on the admin or any other person for that matter.Besides it just goes to show the kind of concern the likes of oduor12 have for this great team.

  • Let us give the office the support they need. Please am asking the same question, how old is the rwandi’s guy? Investment is good but how long will he be in good shape? Otherwise this is a good move and am sure this is our year. Lets the tech team ensure that we have a strong defence after the departure of Masika. We can only wish him well in AFC.
