Muguna begs to leave as Kerr demands Ksh 100m

Midfielder Kenneth Muguna is pleading with the club to set him free so he can pursue a move to KF Tirana in Europe.

Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna on Thursday maintained he “expects” to leave the club for Albanian club FK Tirana before the end of this month.

Speaking a day after Nation Sport exclusively highlighted his desire to walk out, the Kenya international also told this paper he was preparing to hold crunch talks with club chairman Ambrose Rachier to force an exit.

But in a related twist, the club’s coach Dylan Kerr said that Muguna would not be leaving unless his suitors were are willing to pay a Sh100 million transfer fee.

Muguna also asked Gor Mahia fans to “understand” his decision of seeking greener pastures in Europe.

Said the youngster: “(Gor Mahia fans) Kindly understand, I am sad to say this but I really want to go to Europe and build my career… it will not be the end of Gor Mahia. Even the likes of Olunga left but the club has remained a force.”

“I spoke to the club chairman before we went to the polls. He asked for official communication from Tirana. Now they have received a letter from (FK) Tirana requesting for my services. I want to meet him again to reiterate my desire to leave.”

Kerr has, however, accused his predecessor, Brazilian Jose Marcelo Ferreira aka Ze Maria, who currently handles Tirana, of tapping his players.

  • $100 million is reasonable considering the contract of muguna but even if it is going to Europe, muguna should be patient and avoid mediocre third tier clubs, muguna can join the belgian , Swedish or any other eastern Europe club. Players should also avoid wasting Kogalo’s time why join and then leave 6months later when the league is midway and Kenyan transfer market is closed. High time we introduce release clauses. Lastly, thank you walusimbi and tuyisenge for ignoring calls to join a mediocre eastern Europe third tier club

This is to EC and particularly Aduda, what does the contract say in such a situation? This should be very simple in my opinion, just apply the terms of the contract.

And this player tapping? Just apply the FIFA sanctions, end of story.

Forcing the player to stay is clearly not an option in this matter, you can’t have a sulking player in the team, it will definitely have a negative effect.

Muguna can be ordered to train with the under 18s and if he refuses then NO WORK, NO PAY. He can go sulk with the under 18s. We at GMFC have titles to win and no time for “drama queens”. If he wants a “free transfer” let him wait for 4 years when his contract expires. Thank you Ker for even doing bloated EC’s work.

    • It will not have a negative impact provided other players are on board. He can decide to stay at home and not attend training as long as he doe not sign/play for another club. Diego Costa is in South America and Chelsea are playing their league games

Dear Muguna, try and be sensible in this matter. Stop the tantrums, if you are that good why is’nt anybody paying like the PSG/Nyemar case. Just tell your Tirana to pay the agreed transfer fee then you will be released like yesterday. If Tirana ain’t ready to risk their money on you then think again, bado hutoshi mboga or you and by extension GMFC are being conned.Even if you are go at the of the season GMFC must be PAID to release you from your 4 year contract. But okwasechi, JUST PAY US AND BE REALEASED. Mugabe should be keenly watched given past experiences with the secretive transfers of BB to Randers, Ali Abondo, Dan Ssrenkuma’s failed 2015 mid season transfer attempt etc. Let Muguna meet the EC, AR already admitted that he can’t handle the issue alone anyway GMFC is not Rachier Babes. Fiston Razak went to S.A for kes.24M but this div.2 club is ranting nonsense ati a “free transfer”.NO MONEY NO TRANSFER.

  • hehehe…EC without job description is clearly exposed ! dylan kerr is the one demanding the fee, is he the coach, the director of football, acting chairman, muguna’s agent or what ? meanwhile the drama continues as i keep saying FK TIRANA is as good as a secondary school team in kenya.

African players need to change their mentality otherwise they will be exploited forever.

I think My Kerr is very right in this , he should be allowed to handle this matter professionally. if we allow Muguna to talk to chairman then we will show oher players to underrate coach that will not go down well with the team. Muguna cant leave immediately we get a new coach, he is trying to show us that they are not in good terms which is not true, he must work with kerr first. Even miraa harvesting must be done with some respect not madharau namna hii.

My take is that every chance created to sign a new player strengthens the club if used well. Miguna’s interest to leave the club should already be sending EC full stretch to a better replacement. As a senior club in the country Gor must show leadership in a number of ways:

    1. It is disastrous to hold on to worker who does not want to work for you. Please implore Miguna’s contract and make the best use of it for the club’s best interest.

    2. Buying and selling players is one of the lucrative businesses for clubs [Buy low- sell High] and the negotiation should be about how much the club will gain by selling Miguna now when he is hot in the market rather than later.

3 . Now that it has proved attracting international attention in Kenya is much easier through Gor Mahia than the many clubs in Kenya the wheel dealers department need to be activated and staffed with appropriate staff who can do good business on behalf of the club not under the table deals like buying g a player for 1.5 million and inflating it through the press as ……..

    4. Miguna and other young stars who want to make money in day must learn to listen and know that it is not the best thing to leave your employer acrimoniously – How ever good you are a little blessing as you walk past the gates of your employer is healthy.

    5. Gor, Miguna and FK Tiran must observe FIFA transfer regulations however sweet the deal is. The next transfer window DEC/JAN and if Miguna is not interested in playing for Gor the remainder of the period he can become ball boy until transfer period as they negotiate.

There are rules and guidelines that guide players transfers. I also believe that Muguna also has a contract with Gor Mahia, which should have very clear exit clauses, whether initiated by the player or the club. This, in my opinion, should be a straight forward matter, guided by the contract. I however have my reservations with the club that Muguna wants to join in Europe. With a bit of patience at Kogallo, I think he can get a better club. But again, if it is his wish, the EC should let go of him. I also hope that the club will make money out of this. Football is business

  • Either they pay or Muguna stays. If he does not want to play he can sit out the second leg then we negotiate in the new transfer window. Kudos to Bkacberry for the much deserved recall to Harambee Stars!!

Eiiiiiiiish no insults please, where is miraa coming in to this? Let’s maintain some decorum, he is still ours until he leaves; even after he leaves he is still ours and will remain so when Kogalo history is written. What does the exit clause in the contract say? Or there is none? People must live with the rules, why is somebody quiet on this? I ask again, if FK Tirana are guilty of player tapping, what does FIFA rules provide? Why is this thing proving difficult when it is not? Does this team have legal advisers? What do they say?

While we are pulling our hairs Ze Maria confirms that Muguna is already signed and waiting for his work permit

    Reply
    • @Dan, but even if he has signed for Tirana, he cannot play until FKF issues the ITC. This is blatant disrespect from whoever has engineered this move. Worse news is if we keep him he may not deliver or may sabotage the team. This thing will get messy and Muguna is likely to be a liability than an asset going forward. I am beginning to take the unpopular line that we let him go whether we get that money or not. If anything money realized from transfers before has never helped the team based on all available information. The boy has cooked his own goose. Ze Maria is unlikely to last two seasons in that club and then or even before he shall have been declared surplus to requirements without compensation!!!! And now that Aucho is not under contract is it possible to get him even after the window?

      Reply
      • No way. He does not have to play. we paid 1M for this boy and paid him signing on fees rumored to be in the region of 4m and now you just want us to let him go after 8 months? I refuse. If Tirana really want this player at least let them pay Gor what Gor spent to sign/bring in the player. Let us recoup of investment. Otherwise what will be the purpose of signing agreements/contracts if they can be disregarded at will. Wacha akae bench ama atrain na youth team until hiyo contract iishe.

Looks like there are some people in the EC who still bow down to that clueless Ze Maria. How on earth do they accept to be paid just in case the player attracts a moneyied buyer? What happens if the next buyer also deals on similar “pay you later” terms? This is the most ridiculous deal ever heard.

Let’s just accept this is a new trick set up by Mugabe & Co. to swindle GMFC. It is only the club’s portion of the transfer fee that is being suspended or postphoned until the subsequent / next anticipated transfer which may never be paid. The 10% agent’s commission will be paid now / upfront and you can be the usual EC suspects are part of Muguna’s agents.

  • I described our EC as comprising proven imbeciles a few weeks back and this is the reason. Football is a lucrative business so FK Tirana pay us 100 Million and take Muguna plain and simple. To corrupt him with big salary processes and advise him to Engineer a go-slow sulking exit by non-cooperation with the TB won’t work nor will his promises that he will buy out his contract gradually using his 450,000 promised monthly salary to the Aduda’s of GM. We like you and you are a good player but we have been paying you and you are under a long-term contract with an exit clause that reads ”Gor Mahia to consider releasing the player to a European club should a viable and mutually profitable/agreeable deal arise during the duration of his contract”. Where is the stipulated mutually beneficial aspect if Muguna forces a free transfer using underhand tactics only to go end up sharing his 450,000 monthly salary with his Agent Ze Maria who has negotiated those terms and will be pocketing 200,000 monthly commission fees while we lose a dependable player and our league pursuit?Hakuna walipe hela kijana aende ama akae hapa na acheze, hatutaki ujinga bwana…

Muguna talk to Tirana / Ze Maria to pay GMFC and then deduct the money from your monthly salary as you will be their player/employee. Why do you want GMFC to bear all the risk/burden. Its seems Tirana are not willing to spend a dime for you to join them and Ze Maria, their head coach, can’t convince them! Remember though GMFC want Kshs.100M, Tirana have offered Kshs.0 i.e ZERO, NOTHING for your talents. HOW AND WHY? I think Tirana have started doubting “The Genius”, hence his desperation to signing. Giving him 6 months to be sacked. Let me repeat what other bloggers have said to EC, even with Olunga GMFC still earned Kes.5M development fees on subsequent transfers before he hit 24 years as per FIFA rules. The Tirana offer is useless especially given that signs are there that Muguna/Ze Maria may be released / sacked by Tirana.

This Muguna is not a professional that’s why He’s behaving that way. How on earth can a player request to be released for free & he has a running contract. Shame on him. If those Tirana people r desperate to sign him then let them pay the required amount. Muguna should also conduct himself professionally.
