Mohamed Kheri: Brief stint as Gor Mahia coach

In 1989, Kheri was then Harambee stars coach. He had a very brief stint as Gor Mahia coach. When Jack Johnson quit, Kheri was seconded by the Kenya football federation to help Gor Mahia as they were preparing for their Africa cup winners cup quarter final match against LPRC Oilers of Liberia. Kheri worked his magic as Gor Mahia beat Oilers 3-1 in Monrovia to qualify for the semi-finals. The first leg at Nyayo stadium had ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw and Gor Mahia were showing the effects of playing without a coach
