Gor Mahia Elections disrupted

Gor Mahia elections which have been beset by confusion failed to take off on Sunday due to crowd trouble.

Agitated fans disrupted the process right when it was about to begin forcing Police to lob tear gas cannisters. The tear gas caused fans to evacuate thus rendering the elections moot.

In the ensuing melee fans dashed out of the vicinity rendering the process null and void.

Returning officer Jackson Ndakwa said that the matter will now be forwarded to the Sam Nyamweya led federation for arbitration.

The primary contest was between current chairman Ambrose Rachier and upstart Lawyer Eric Adede.

God help our club K’ogalo & punish the hooligans who pretend to be fans and yet they don’t have club interest @ heart. can somebody tell me how bad this is going to affect the playing unit. after all this you will expect the team to perform in the Continentals.

Mr Ambrose rachier should know that Gor mahia is not his property and should embrace competition. Reports from the election venue say that the election process had not kicked of by 3pm. What were they waiting for?
Mr rachier’s time to transform Gor mahia is over. We are grateful for the league title but the title is not all we need at our beloved club. We need to compete with our rivals in all fronts, We need a proper constitution and we need a stadium. Rachier has been the club chairman for 6 years but upto this day he cant tell us where the title deed for the land is.
It’s high time we have a new chair with better ideas to move the club forward

Who was throwing the tear gas ? Who disrupted the elections ? Why did we hold elections at this time ? What happens next ? ………it is no wonder player contracts are running out and nobody bothers, players are leaving and nobody comments, we have a tournament in Tanzania in 2 weeks who will steer the team, who will recruit players ? Dd you see anguyo, njuguna, okumu and others in yesterdays game which we lost to tusker ? I have solid information that if contract of 8 players is not renewed in 2 weeks, gor mahia is going to be in serious problem………..we will actually have less than 12 players in camp !!!!!

As members of this club we shall not allow this to happen, NEVER AGAIN!!!!

This is what happens when elections are due but the incumbents are not ready to leave the office. Things could have run smoothly if the office had bothered to organise. It does not matter who stays in the office so long as a good constitution a blue print for development is in place. We had made a step ahead but will now go 4 steps backward.

@mcosweto and jakoyo i really pity you people ,today was election day and people were registered so that we can elect leaders that can run gor mahia as club the way you want. But my question is how will we bring those changes you are talking about if you don’t participate in elections? you are still talking about what you heard while the bhang smokers you are always criticizing here turned out in large numbers to effect the changes the way they want it to be done in gor mahia.let us not be the type of people ya kupiga piga mdomo in this blog while when the real time reaches you are nowhere to be seen.you are still talking of what you heard while people were there to vote.Ambrose rachier you are talking about was there physically and people were allowed to shoot questions to him,the question is where were you to attack rachier head on and ask him all those your questions and decide on the ballot box.Let us be real supporters of the club or else the bhang smokers you are always talking about are much committed to this club than you people who are claiming to be sobber and clean.I was there to the last minute and election was aborted at eleventh hour by some goons who are claiming to be a supporter of acertain aspirant.my only concern is where are we heading if the club supporters who are always claiming to be the lagards and the most sobber and can point fingers at others can not turn up to vote and express their feelings in the ballot box.were it that am having powers to close this site today ,i would have done it immediately am not impressed by the first two bloggers and yet they are among the people who are always making a lot of noise in this blog.there statement indicates very well that they were not there.the elections was aborted and the registration was closed so there is nothing you can do,it is better you keep quiet.thank you bloggers enjoy your holiday.

@jack omollo, I’m not interested at impressing you. Some of us never made it to nyayo because of unavoidable circumstances yet some too never came because from the onset of the whole thing it was evident no election will take place.
Rachier and his people are not interested at having a freen and fair election. Those goons who turned up for the elections have their father as the chair and their uncles as the vice chairs. Klub sio ya rachier na marafiki zake

@mcosweto and jakoyo, your comments are misplaced. If you were not in the stadium for election, you better shut up and stop posting of what you heard. If you can’t participate in the club election which you claim to be supporting, i do not think that you are real supporters.

Let me remind you you too does not own Gor Mahia. Rachier needs respect even if you are supporting him. He has done very well with the club as there is no season under his leadership where he had failed to win a trophy.

I can see some high level of lack of respect which clearly explained where you are coming from and your level of education. Please show some respect.

Mcosweto, you are not a real fan may be a goon for hire as your statement depicts of yourself and your real character.

I quote your statement “Some of us never made it to nyayo because of unavoidable circumstances yet some too never came because from the onset of the whole thing it was evident no election will take place” why speaking for some goons like yourself. Style up.

@Jack omolo am with you to your last word my friend those first two bloggers are misleading us.Mc osweto who did you expect to tell Rachier those things you are making noise with in this blog if you, yourself, you were not there?Nobody, and this clearly shows us that you are the type ya kupiga piga mdomo.Another one is Jakoyo all those questions you are asking there of who disrupted elections and who threw teargas my friend you could be there to witness it by yourself,Again mr Jakoyo you are courageous enough to tell us that you will not accept somethings to go on in the club as a club member,my friend i would like to bring it to your attention that you not gor mahia member and your name is nowhere in the club since the club members are the ones who paid 500/- and were registered to come and vote, so stop cheating us my friend. To the opinion leaders and the gate keepers of this blog who keeps on yapping every now and then and can not bring change in the club through voting, please keep quiet and give us space. The registration was done and closed so let the bhang smokers whom you are always pointing fingers at do for you elections because the way i saw it they are the ones who have registered and are the real members of this club as per the constitution.

Same goons same results. Some of the goons are on this blog. I don’t know why we have allowed goons to destroy Gor. I just don’t know. It’s painful. We are on self destruct mode and are hurtling down like a runaway lunatic train. God save us. We can’t even hold elections….reminiscent of so many ills affecting us.

  • SORRY BUT THIS IS HOW THINGS GO AT GOR MAHIA

From the onset, allow me to condemn with the strongest terms those few delegates who disrupted the Annual General Meeting. Put it in another way, nothing to worry because violence is a norm in this club.

The more people advocate for free and fair polls, it seems there is always a lot that hell bent to cause chaos. I cannot remember one time when this club conducted peaceful elections. Intact most of its AGM’s are marred with violence.

I repeat. Unless we learn to conduct ourselves with civility, this club will just remain just that- a club. Men come and go but institutions remain for ever. Ambrose Rachier and other officials have every right to seek re-election just like it is also a right for any of this great club has a right to contest any position provided he meet all the minimum qualifications. The chaotic elections witnessed on Sunday clearly shows that goons still influence how this club should be run.

It is a shame for a big club like Gor Mahia fail to conduct elections just because of goons ( or did some people say it is part of their DNA?), Anyway, whether the AGM will be conducted again or postponed indefinitely, our image continue to be dented. Shame shame shame

These AGMs are useless unless we adopt delegates systems where branches are allowed to send 10 delegates to the AGMS instead of people being ferried like goats to the stadium to go and disrupt election and Agendas of the AGM.

The ferried goons were neither supporters nor fans of the club. There were unfamiliar faces Ithat i saw that had never attended any of the Gor Mahia matches. If you want be the chairman of the club, why do you ferry goons instead of selling your manifesto to club fans through branches. This is not a political party rally or party nominations where such goons are hired to cause havoc.

The contestant Mr. Adede should be jailed for ferrying thugs and goons to disrupt the peaceful election process. After soul searching, I can now authoritatively confirm that the following three notable contestants were behind the thuggery:-
    1. Adele and his line up
    2. David kilo
    3. Faiz

I urge all Gor Mahia fans to reject all these trouble makers in case elections are called sooner.

However, I have the following issues with this outgoing office:-
    1. We gave this office mandate to turn the club into a company where mode of election was to be changed and only the shareholders are to be allowed to participate in such AGM events. None of the outgoing official never bothered to implement the proposal. For how long will we allow the club to be controlled by goons?
    2. Restructuring the club was never pursued. I am sick and tired with unfulfilled promises particularly during the election.
    3. Setting up secretariat with a fully functioning office headed by CEO and his team. Just imagine we have no office bearers, how will the club affairs be handled such as recruitment of players.
    4. Cleaning up of members register. This should be an annual or monthly process not only tailored towards election. This is where the problem originate from in conducting peaceful election.

Unless these issues are addressed accordingly, the club will head to relegation on our faces. I do not understand what is difficult in turning the club to a company.

@Jack Omollo and @Mwakio I fully concur with you two guys. First we bloggers are the ‘best’ voters but are never seen anywhere near the polling station (even in National elections) yet we are very good at criticizing the office bearers and anything Gor. Secondly, can’t we disagree with civility. What’s wrong with all parties agreeing peacefully that the elections be postponed to another day? Must we be physical in this 21st century? Thirdly is there something in the gor officew that some people are ready to die for that we as fans do not know? Is it the finances or the fame that comes with it? Or the urge to vie for a political office in future?
As @Mwakio puts it we need to move from this issue of anybody voting to an organised delegates meeting. Though it has its diadvantages but is easier managed or does not disrupt the smooth running of the club. All the same I hope we will come out of it stronger to challenge the futute.
I might sound out of place but can we get a neutral person for the chair? At least we can thank the Sec. Gen and others for having stepped down after realizing that some things ain’t worth ‘dying’ for. AR and Adede can then serve as club elders with others. i.e if the constitution allows.
One thing for sure we all love the team but only differs in how we express it. Some of us in a violent way (unfortunately they more or less have their way) and others through peacefull advocating for changes. Unfortunately the sterotyping of ‘volence is in their DNA’ as put by @Pareiyo 2013 will continue unless we change our ways of expressing dissent

My Ever Sobber Brothers, Pareyio, Pod Antie and Mwakio.. am so proud of you.
It is such a shame that its reached a point where we can not do anything… yes anything at all!! I was so devastated and ashamed to be part of yesterday. Surely does Gor mahia belong to thugs?? who want to be associated to stupid, uncouth imbeciles???people who do not have passion for the club, people who wait to pounce on innocent genuine followers of the club? I am ashamed to my last.
Brother Mwakio, much as your Idea of only having a few appointed representatives from the branches will not hogger well with the same people,I want to agree that it would be the best for now. we only need to have men of integrity, men and women who will not be compromised, people who dont need anyone for handouts.

This is my plea as we break for our holidays…. Men And Women with genuine passion for the club, how do we come out of this??? People coming to smoke bhang in the stadias, rowdy bastards born of the same mother and finally a good decorrum we were enjoying in the recent past.

    What happens meanwhile, God Knows.

@ jarae am happy with you ,you were there and you have confirmed it,i went there personally and i was never decided on who i was going to vote for between rachier and adede, although the rest of gor mahia officials starting from the vice chairman to the last man in that previous officials list i had made my mind and i was going to vote them out.According to me i was going to to hear the ideologies of the two fellows rachier and adede and make up my mind on the right person who had this great club somewhere close to his heart and ready to bring changes to this club. But from what i saw bloggers, The ADEDE guy will not take us anywhere in this club,Firstly there is no way you can force your way to leadership by hiring goons to make you penetrate to the leadership of gor mahia.I was against how the elections was carried out but when i got explanations and reasons as to why some people never got their cards, the previous office was right, how can you bring your members for registration less than twenty four hours to election day.am not supporting anyone but there is always deadline for everything especially things to do with election ,deadline for registration must be there to give election board time to come out with the final list of genuine registered members who can participate in the elections. This is a case where by someone contending for chairmanship of the club is not concerned about the rules and regulation of the elections and coming late with the list of his branches of which he believes are his stongholds to bulldoze his ways into leadership. This is a big no the rules and regulation applies to everyone. As i had said i was not yet decided when i was going to nyayo on the individuals vieying for chairmanship but my weight was more behind adede than rachier since the later has been there for years and yet we have not seen changes that we expected, but from what i saw bloggers there is nowhere adede is taking this club, that guy seemingly he has some forces behind him steering him to contest, with me i ruled him out totally ,the goons that he carried from chokaaa estate and the guys i know very well who are grabbing and dividing for people plots there and are ready to kill and doesn’t value human life.My friends i don’t like the guy know and i have made my mind know, the company itself has put him out according to me.To the people who are saying that there are intruders in this blog because i have said the truth which is not sweet to your years.my friends i still remain and i stand by my words there is no way we will bring changes in this club by making noise in this blog and not voting in the right people to run the club.Am a genuine gor mahia member and that is why i took my 1500/- to pay for my younger brothers so that we can bring changes to this club and am still dedicated and I MUST VOTE whether it is january next year to bring changes i want.i like membere like the MAPAMBANO guy the man was there yesterday and asked the chairman very tough questions to answer, those are the fans we want in this great club ,lakini wale wa kupiga piga mdomo na hawapigi kura…..noooooo my friends give us space.

In as much as i blame ADO for not transforming the club by putting in place clear management structures that can professionalize the club and take it to greater heights. I have serious reservations about this person called Adede. I know this guy very well, and to me he will not take us anywhere.
My suggestion is that we have a committee to manage and the club and prepare for elections in the next 6 Months. In the meantime the team should explore the possibility of reforming the Constitution to adopt a more organized method of elections. This is the time for the club Patron to step up and intervene to ensure player recruitment and the club affairs continue.

  • If Adede is having this club at heart hangefanya what he did yesterday n even if he comes today, tomorrow or next year if am still alive i will not vote for him even to be a ball boy in Gor we dont need these kind of people, now i can even say George Bwana is a wonderful person when i stopped him jana n confronted him to ask him y he is not standing for re election he told me very clearly that my friend i know even if i was not going to win but i knew i could av had votes from people who still believe in my leadership, but av walked round n round but jopiny feel that i didn’t do the job as they sent me to do so av decided not to defend my seat but i will bounce back because am still young n i know i will come back one day which i really liked of him,so if Adede was really genuine he should have known that, but he choose to be violent as Omollo said me am a GOR MAHIA member and will vote any day election r called iwe ni usiku, mchana, inyeshe, jua iwake, iwe na mafriko labda only kich will stop me from voting ama kama nimekufa GOD forbid,am a member n can even give u my membership number kama mnataka

Didn’t know this much about Adede apart from the sponsorship he was talking about of 200m he used to talk about getting for Gor from SA. But since the elections date approached I never heard about that apart from saying he will organise an harambee for Gor. I think we are now beyond harambee which translates to handouts. We might not like AR and even G. Bwana but we need to be careful that the people we chose will move the club forward. At least now no one should promise us to win the league. We need a step-change in leadership.
As suggested earlier I wish we could vote in like 3 offices. Chair, Vice chair, Sec Gen. Then a group of elders to mediate any issues. We can then have a CEO with PR/Marketing and Finance leads under them.
Meanwhile to fill in the vacuum let’s have Kidero to chair the club as we move forwards. Since he is from the corporate world accountability will be the key word and he is also well-connected and can get us the sponsors and players we really need

Our notice has been drawn to the fact that your club elections which were to be held yesterday 15th December 2013, at the Nyayo National Stadium were not held as a result of acts of hooliganism perpetrated by a section of the attendees, who grabbed, scattered and burned the ballot papers just when voting was due to commence.

We are further advised that the Gor Mahia FC office had been dissolved by the time the hooligans were destroying the ballot papers and other election materials.

We as a federation cannot allow a vacuum in the leadership of any club to prevail. We therefore after consultation with the Government and in accordance with FIFA statutes and the statutes of the Federation mandate you and your office bearers who were serving until yesterday, more particularly when you are facing a continental campaign next year to remain in office and continue to run the affairs of the club up to and indcluding 30th January 2014.

I personaly knw this man, Adede, and i know that he is an international crook/ corn man. i also know that he has served jail terms in south africa and Botswana. I also know that he can not set foot in botswna since he is aprohibited immigrant. i also can confirm that his so called Doctrate degree is fake and even the other degress that he holds are questionable. He is wanted in BW for fraud, and if anybody could ask presesident Khama last week while in the country, you could get ans. I also knw that he has fatherd several children in Botswana and south Africa, and neglected them. I also know that he is aspiring to contest the Rangwe constituency election in 2017.

Well, Bloggers can judge for themselves… is this the right man for Gor…???????

I am not suprised that he is being acused for what happened yesterday… God Bless Ko’galo

Those who are complaining that so and so was not at the stadium and for that reason shouldn’t blog on this site are wrong. I want to remind you that gor following is massive and is found all over the country. If all of us were to travel nairobi, i don’t see how the committee could have handled such huge numbers. This blog can accomodate all of us.
I support the delegates system. As much as it might have some disadvantages, its reasonable and easy to manage.
I propose that an independent body should be put in place to manage these elections.
I want to remind gor members that ideological differences is not war or rather shouldn’t lead to war and that is a war of words or physical.

Its regrettable that the site has evolved from a bloggers forum to a platform of badmouthing some Dr. Eric Adede.

Not more than a week ago i suggested we limit or stop forthwith campaigns in this site and i honestly believe some people here had taken sides to the extent that from their comments you can easily deduce how badly they would have behaved had they been in the same shoes of those they call names. Lets stop campaigns for or against AR or Dr. Adede. This is for prosperity.

It serves all of us to vote quietly and independently instead of yapping about so and so being so bad and good.

The truth is that these elections were never free and fair. You can hate my assertion but the big questions are:

How did Ingwe conduct theirs? Were GM’s organised as well as that? Were all aspirants included in the process?

Let elections be organised and carried out transparently to satisfy their true meaning.

Remember even the Faiz guy was in AR’s camp by late last week and you wonder what purpoted change of mind..Politics?

What has changed because in the previous elections we all witnessed ferrying of voters and we cannot rule out this from all camps. If anything the so called thugs can only thrive where confusion reigns, and as Oduori12 put it in a previous blog, they sometimes come in handy!

My last question..Who really are mebers of GM, i understand there are life members.
