Twahir Muhidin was taking charge of Bandari since taking over as interim boss from Bernard Mwalala who stepped down. It wasn’t an easy match for the Dockers as the first match for the caretaker boss was Gor Mahia.

A lack of concentration from Bandari goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana saw Gor Mahia take the lead thanks to Mapigano’s straight kick from his own area. Goals from Apudo and Kennedy Agogo were enough to hand Bandari yet again another defeat with Wilberforce Lugogo missing a penalty in the stoppage time which could have seen the visitors get a consolation goal.

A balanced game from the start but Gor Mahia had the lead. K’Ogalo’s keeper Mapigano kicked the ball from a distance and it caught Ndikumana off guard and he could not save it as the ball went on to kiss the back of the net.

Bandari tried to respond as Kenga received a through ball from Lugogo. The forward dribbled past Mapigano but he missed his feet and the keeper had the chance to recover. Another chance for Dockers came and it was Ochomo going passed Mahia’s defence but his strike kissed the side net.

The Green Army got their second just before half time Apudo. Bandari pressed chasing for an equalizer but were hit on the counter and Apudo grabbed the second for the hosts.

In the second half, Gor Mahia netted the third goal, punishing Bandari after they lost possession in their own half. The ball was sent inside the penalty area and substitute Kennedy Agogo took his time, dancing inside the penalty area before he unleashed a shot past Ndikumana.

Penalty

Bandari were awarded a penalty after Darius Msagha was brought down inside the danger zone by Momanyi. Lugogo stepped up to take it but his effort was saved by Mapigano after he dived in the right direction.
