Gor Mahia to host Tusker at Kisumu

Gor Mahia will open their 2019-2020 Kenya Premier League campaign with a match against Tusker on Saturday. The match will be played at Kisumu.

The match was originally slated for Machakos
“We don’t have fans in Machakos and hence the decision to shift the game to Kisumu, where we have many fans and we know they will turn in large numbers to support the team.” said Omondi Aduda to goal.com

Aduda also noted that eticketing will be utilized for all matches

“That is what we have adopted and it is part of our new plans to restructure the day to day running of the club,” Aduda continued.

“We want to maximise on the revenue we get from gate collections and also bring order when it comes to fans purchasing tickets. We will not accept cash at the gates, and anyone intending to attend the match should purchase his or her ticket online.”

With eTicketing, the attendance and gate proceeds should be made public as soon as ticket sales have been completed, which is typically during the match.

Aigle coach: Gor Mahia have weak links

Aigle Noir coach Joslin Bifpubusa thinks that Gor Mahia has certain players who are weak links and that this issue will need to be resolved before Gor Mahia play against USM Alger.

“Gor are a good side with good players, and they played some good football.
However, they will have to make some amends to their team if they are to make it past USM Alger.

“There are some two players in the team I felt they do not deserve to be given a starting berth, yes they might have a certain role to play, but I think they are a weak link in the team.

“Maybe it is because the coach did not have all his players available for the game and had to do with them.” he said to goal.com

The Burundian coach said his team lost due to inexperience.

“We sold about 90% of our players and those with me are completely new, and their lack of experience was exposed. Stagefright got the better of them and it contributed to the two goals which we conceded within the first 20 minutes. I just wish Gor Mahia all the best in their next game, but for us we need to go and continue rebuilding.” he said.

Polack Impressed with Tobias Otieno

One of the surprise signings of this season is Tobias Otieno. The Youthful midfielder previously played for the Gor Mahia U19 team.

“Otieno is a brilliant midfielder. He is still very young and has age on his side and I honestly think he will develop into one of the best defensive midfielders,” Polack told the Nation

Polack also noted that Otieno is a keen learner.
“He is very eager to learn and constantly asks questions on positioning and other technical aspects of the game and this is a clear indication of a player who is serious with his career,” he concluded.

PRAY for a victory with a clean sheet.

  • Please start publishing the gate collections from E ticketing. With the net income going to Gor coffers then I can only hear my heart telling me to go back to live matches.
I like the way Gor played but decry the bouncy Kasarani pitch. The display of ‘hunger for goals’ was quite impressive.
USM will be interesting, I expect Gor to roll over these Arabs. Algeria will do their normal ‘Arab thing’ ie hostility et ALL… but Gor is now your regular Brawler. I’m happy when these ‘tough’ teams come our way.
    EC… 3 things;
    1. Get the E-ticketing thing right.
    2. Demonstrate how the money is being used.
    3. Take care of hooliganism and make live attendance a family outing.

With these three even Coca cola will beg to sponsor you… ask me why?

Dinga, you are my blogger of the day!

You, have hit the nail, ‘bang’ on the head about the 3 to-do things!

These days, whoever, can come up with a live family football package, will smile all the way to the bank!

However, until then, or until we see families come in on match days and them(Gor Admin) publishing the gate collection figures, atleast, 20 minutes to the end of the matches, using stadium pa system, confirmed, by the club’s social media and official websites, and subject to verification, by all, we can’t celebrate yet!

Put simply, the taste of the pudding its eating or in as far Gor Mahia is concerned, and since we don’t sell pudding, The sweetness of these reforms is in their applications!

  • I feel we don’t get sponsors because we can’t fill Kasarani. If best a half of Kasarani from top to the bottom should be full and that’s why I see Gor’s future in Kisumu because even Motorcycle manufacturers wouldn’t mind advertising to that massive mboka crowd

This year will be fantastic; Call it respect or Match fixing, SoNy, Chemelil and Kisumu all stars must respect Gor as a big brother but do justice to other teams when they come visiting. We count on their 9 points and they must make sure they target AFC, Tusker, Mathare, Bandari or any other title pretenders. Good Weekend outing Gor.

  • Am in total agreement with what the Burundian coach has said , infact I wanted to post the exact thing he did after the bandari game but cognisant of the fact that the number of players eligible to play against the Burundians was limited , I withdrew my comment then and just like the Burundian I wont go into names , but its my prayer that the situation is remedied because if that doesnt happen , the Arabs will thouroughly exploit that weakness .
I have total respect of the new coach and I trust that he has definitely noted what we , mere mortals have , and as somebody who does his homework (unlike the one who was always feigning ignorance of opponents ) , I trust he has done the same with USM Alger and come up with ways to cope .

Give Oktay a break. it was his first time in Africa and expected use of data analytics as they do in Europe only to find we dont even scouts in other scouts. He did his best and took us forward with his limited experience. He was a hardworker and never complained about administrative issues we faced towards the season’s end. Without these issues, we would have reached semifinals at least. as a club we must learn to respect all who have dedicated their time to be part of the family

      • One blogger on this wall , once advised and rightly so , that people need to appreciate the difference between critiquing and criticising because in not doing so , one runs the risk of catching unnecessary and misdirected feelings .
In my post , I was just but extolling the virtues of a Coach doing his homework on opponents but for reason that I dont understand , somebody decided that the example I gave of one who never did his homework fitted Oktay .
If those feelings were to be followed so literally and simplistically to the latter , then it behoves as not to say anything against the EC when they mess coz “they have dedicated their time to the club and hence are part of the family ” .
If one says on this blog that for the first time in a long time , he/she has seen the players moving the ball around with a purpose , you can decide to take the statement in many ways , You can take it to be an appreciation of the new coach’s tactical and technical acumen OR you can catch feelings and take it to be disrespect to Oktay , Kerr , Nattal or whoever your feelings directs you to but as far as I am concerned the only constant is Gor Mahia .

It’s unfortunate that Batambuze and Philemon are injured. Our two wing backs are good but with a team with speedy wingers we can be exposed. But as of now that’s what we have and will use to diwn USM

@Odhis Ben thanks for this. However, this has raised some pertinent thoughts in my mind. Now that we do not have an outright sponsor:
    1. What if we came up with a platform where one would still attend all Gor Matches by proxy but still pay. In other words watch it through any medium that may be available on that day though practically not at the stadium due to unavoidable circumstances eg. Distance, Sickness, Traveling, Work related matters etc.
    2. This can eventually become a big financial giant to bankroll some of things that the club is struggling with. This is just an idea…..

You don’t have to watch the match on tv if you can make it to the stadium. I have to watch it live and direct. Secondly just like my colleagues I hope the coach and entire TB got the message from Aigle Noir coach it’s very important for the team for improvement. This is a very good team by all standards but the areas must be strengthened not by bringing in more players but by maybe switching positions ie Ojwang doing the right flank. Otherwise hope to watch them in Kisumu.

My two pence piece of advice gentlemen…… We may watch the game on TV But we must buy a ticket online and display it on WhatsApp and or buy for any friend who can attend. This way the club benefits. Am still pushing my agenda of e-registration, targeting 250,000 members with annual membership of 1500 kende. My 2k is always ready for when it will start. Let’s give players support as they play their first league match in Mboka.

Oliech contract has been terminated for failing to attend training sessions, failing to answer phone calls and producing a Kibra parliamentary campaign poster on an ODM ticket wearing a Gor Mahia jersey. The poster was shared in a Gor Mahia players whattsapp forum. Officially Gor Mahia is not affiliated to any political party. Oliech did a big mistake.

I hope all of us are fathers or aspire to be fathers in future. And if not then please I passionately appeal to you to have a fatherly figure around your kids. If you have nephews cousins or young friends who one way or another lost a father or never knew one, its of utmost importance to offer such traditional African relationships to them. The consequences are always terrible. Horribly terrifying in social life especially when one became a a social celebrated figure. Just otongolo mbili advice my friends. Jasego Ilal Kanye Owada? Aseriambo.
