Having dropped eight players, Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarusic has reportedly identified key players who he hopes to sign next month when the transfer window officially opens.

Sources intimated to SuperSport.com that Logarusic had set his sights on unsettled Rangers’ captain Pascal Ochieng who is certain to move from his current club in June.

The inspirational defender would be making a comeback to the club wherer he played almost a decade ago.

The Croat is also said to be interested in mercurial Sofapaka midfielder Humphrey Mieno who is said to have really impressed the coach who wants to get the playmaker onboard at whatever cost.

KCB midfielder Paul Muigai Kiogera who scored a hat-trick over against Oserian last weekend is another player Logarusic is interested in.

He likes his teams to play creative attacking football and the source added that his aim is to rebuild K’Ogalo ready for the second round of matches to begin on June 23.

  • My considered opinion(note buck stops with coaches nay head coach) is that coach Logarusic and bench shld PLIZ PLIZ VUKA BODA especially in the search 4 the midfielders/strikers.
To the released players take heart, move on and draw inspiration frm Eric “Kigeugeu” Masika. Finally pliz consider retaining Mr.Log as a consultant technical advisor in the long run for as we wait to see his tactical acumen he has definitely proved himself as an able administrator/implementor

  • @1 n @2:once the kenyan volleyball coach was asked why kenya performed poorly and his reply was that the other teams were advanced coz the coaches had laptops. so what will a clubhouse do? why wait for someone else to produce his/her money. most common kenya comment, WHY DIDN’T SOMEONE DO SOMETHING. so why don’t you produce your money. how much have you produced towards this clubhouse? my other take is calling player names. i do not thnk masika deserves this. players are now professional. its his life… this guy has to work for the person who will take care of his interest. as far as he was concerned gor was not the place. so when you call him names… pls tell us how good you are where you do your staff.why haven’t we had about you? if gor cannot afford to pay good money then its gor mahia’s fault. gor has alot going for it but it has the lousiest WANNABE fans one can meet. if one is a better coach than the croat then why did you not apply for the job. the best we fans can do is to support the club by attending the matches… thats our JD. if you want a plan come here and tell us what you have done so far towards buying this plane or building something. do not post blogs on how gor needs this and that. PRODUCE the money.

  • ADIDDAS GUY SUPPORT YOU

On behalf of my Adiddas comrades, i wish to register my 100 perecent support to Hurricane Logarusic for the current reforms he is undetaking at Gor Mahia. The new broom sweeps clean, they say.

Let me say from the onset that i was a great admirer of the late Karisa Maitha, the former minister for Local Government. I used to admire his style of working. He used to sack pepole on the spot thereby earning the nickname Hurricane. At one moment, the minister sat for hours at Uhuru Park to personally scrutinize documents of the staff of the city of Nairobi to stamp out ghost workers. His effort paid off handsomely saving the council millions of money.

Hurricane Logarusic in one fell swoop axed eight players from K’Ogalo squad. I fully support his current initiative to inject new blood into the system. I will not try to speculate about the players on the coach’s radar. I have all along advocated for the coach to be given a free hand to execute his mandate. And I highly commend our chairman and his office for this.

    CORRECTION

In one of my comments elsewhere on this blog, i said Gor Mahia is lying in position 10 in the log with 10 points. I have since learnt that Gor Mahia is at position 10 with 13 points. My sincere apology to you all.

At last we have a man who has got a Vision and Mission for GM. A Vision to return GM to it’s lost glory and a Mission to make Gor a force to reckon.

  • So now that we have released the players we have not being using effectively can we be told the case with Lavatsa. Is he still recarpurating. If so till when?

On our lack of goals I still feel we have aggressive strikers who are not being fed by the midfielders

    All the best tomorrow anyway.

  • For some of us who consistently criticize our team you just need to see how Ingwe was hammered 3-0 against City Stars. The league is tough and getting 3 points needs serious commitment from the EC, players and fans. Sooner or later hooliganism will be on the other side, what with results not going their way.
All that hype of invicibilty will disappear from them and they will start struggling like all other teams. Their only comfort is having won the earlier matches.

We should thank God that our problems started early so that we had enough time to rectify them. We have also learnt our lessons on recruitment, hooliganism( i hope), tech bench and running the EC where everyone is the club spokesman

  • THE LAST LAP IN A MARATHON IS ALWAYS TOUGH

Tomorrow we play host to another formidable side, chemelil FC at our adopted home, the City Stadium.

Bookmakers are ready to bet for Gor Mahia but the visitors might pull suprises as usual. After a string of poor performances, K’Ogalo recently overhauled it’s playing unit in order to enhance bolster the squad ahead of the second half of matches of the Kenya Premier League.

Hurricane Logarusic, by firing 8 players seem to be telling the boys it’s no longer business as usual at K’Ogalo. The priviledge of donning the jungle green and white jersey should not be taken lightly. The remaining squad has an opportunity tomorrow to prove they merited to be there. Rain or sunshine, K’ogalo must be ready to play under any conditions.

Finally, i wish to take this early opportunity to wish our boys the very best. Those of you who have participated in a marathon know that it is the last lap that is normally tough. Let us try to bag all the maximum points from the remaining matches in this first half of the KPL. It is possible.
    It is possible.

  • We as major stakeholders have to guard all our gains and it is time that EC should give the coach and other members of technical bench maximum support in order to succeed.

All loose ends must be tied for the club to move ahead and win all games.

I have not heard any word from the chairman on all the changes that have been made. Where is our chairman Wakili Ambrose Rachier?

To fans, let us give our team maximum support in all fronts. Let us keep petty things out of the club and focus on motivating the team.
